I generally tend to buy direct from Amazon, and am wary of some of the providers they sell through. After much thought, I decided to go for it, and am very glad I got this...delivery was fast, the product was in good condition, and it's been wonderful so far!
I use this to connect my 13" Macbook to an external 25" monitor. You can easily buy a mini DVI-DVI adapter, but with the mini DVI-HDMI option, you can connect this to an HDTV as well!
There are two things you should note:
(1) Sound might require a separate cable. When I connect my Macbook to my external monitor (which has speakers), the sound still comes out through my Macbook's speakers. Same thing happens when I connect it to my television. You might need a cable to connect the sound to your external display.
(2) This will not work for the newer Aluminum Macbooks, since they have a different display-out port. That being said, if you have the older plastic Macbooks, this should be great for you!
