Nothing amazes me more than cable ripoffs. This optical cable works fine. Quality is great and price is right. I needed it to connect an airport express to my stereo's optical in and it works like a charm. Only a fool would pay for the monster cable. I purchased this cable to connect an Airport Express to an optical input on my stereo receiver. It works perfectly for this purpose--my music sounds great! I bought this specifically to hook up my Airport Express (802.11n) to my receiver. Ordered on the 19th, shipped on the 23rd, received it on the 26th. Total cost with shipping $3.28. I hooked one end into my iMac and the other into my receiver and instant 5.1 sound. My speakers never sounded so good and it was really cool hearing my computer games in surround.
Now if I could only get video to output to my TV without any loss of quality.

plugged it in the computer, plugged it in the bluray receiver and there's no sound.
I used different types of cable and it works, just not this one. Unhappy, but can't return because it's not worth the shipping cost that I paid for and have to pay again.
