Cables come and go and never last forever, especially in the audio production business. I've been using these cables for a month now and they've lasted longer than most of the others I've found elsewhere. Digital signals can be moody and the cables can be moodier, if that's a word. I get an exceptionally clean signal through these adapter cables from one piece of equipment to another without having to wiggle to find a clean spot that works. I'm pleased with one less worry while I'm working.Customer Review: Exactly what I needed.

This cable allows me to plug my laptop into my receiver so I can watch DVDs off my laptop in 5.1 DTS and Dolby Digital.
You just need a headphone port that doubles as a digital S/PDIF port. This applies to most laptops/mac-books but not ipods/ZUNEs which will still require a docking attachment.
This cable also has decent strength and shielding. The caps to the edges are attached to the cable so I just plug them back on when I'm not using it.

Couldn't believe the price -- sounded too good to be true. Recieved the cable as expected (actually, earlier than expected), and it works perfectly with my new Mac Mini (Al unibody). The sound quality is as good as I have experienced in the past with Monster toslink cables. I still can't believe how steep the markup is at the retail stores -- a similar cable sells for $10-25, if you can even find them in stock...Customer Review: Cheap, high-quality, reliable, zero-complaints.

Today's best fiber optic cable can send a 10 gigabit multimode signal several kilometers and it costs 60 cents per foot. Why do some manufacturers charge $60 or more for to send a single-mode 128kbps signal a few feet?
If you're connecting a Toslink device to a mini-Toslink this cable is all you need and it works exactly as advertised. It was shipped fast, works great, and you can't beat the price.

I was using a standard stereo miniplug cable to get audio from my MacMini to my stereo. This was fine for music but I wanted 5.1 for my DVDs. The MACmini has optical through the save connector. The mini TOSlink is a no-brainer to plug in and provides great quality surround sound through my Yamaha receiver. I was a little concerned because the price was pretty low, but the quality and performance are fine.
