Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of 6ft PTC Premium Gold Series Elegant Dual Tone HDMI Cable, Supports Deep ColorCustomer Review: Sweet savings Summary: 5 Stars
So you know, I was pretty skeptical ordering such, well, cheap cables online. But for the price, what the hey.
I got these in the mail and I looked for the inevitable flaws. I was surprised to find none. They are plainly marked as HDMI cables and fit perfectly into HDMI devices. In my case these include a 1 year old HDMI TV, HDMI amplifier and PS3.
I am sure that there are folks who will say these are not shielded or you need expensive cables. My take is you can't go wrong w/ the amount these cost. Go buy the fancy ones and compare on your gear to see if there's a difference. In my case, there was no need to look further.
I wound up ordering 3 of them. You could do well selling these in the parking lot of some box stores for the low low price of say $15 each!
Customer Review: Great cheap HDMI Cable Summary: 5 Stars
The one thing that you should take away from this item is VALUE. It isn't fancy, doesn't have a large thick cord, but it gets the job done. Don't overpay for HDMI cables at the big box stores. A #30+ cable might look more attractive, but won't give you any better picture. HDMI means DIGITAL, that means the signal either gets there or it doesn't (there is no in between). The best analogy I can make is the difference between Analog Over-The-Air (OTA) television broadcasts and new Digital OTA broadcasts. With analog, the better antenna or cables that you had, the better picture you get (less noise). With digital, you either receive the picture clearly, or there is no picture at all.
Bottom line, save your self the money and buy a cheap HDMI cable.
Customer Review: hdmi 1.3 how i love thee Summary: 5 Stars
At first I was skeptical about a $30 dollar cable (per the local computer store) being sold for such a low price. However, I can confirm that the cable I ordered arrived in a short time to my shipping address. Upon opening this package I knew I was in the presence of magic. Magical dust exploded from the package making my girlfriend much more attractive, cleaning my apartment, and growing the size of my TV from 30 inches to 52 inches. I, impressed with the cables so far, plugged them into my television and can attest that the cables do, in fact, work very well. This is the best purchase I have ever made in my whole life. I also ventured to the local tattoo artist down the street that night to get the phrase "HDMI 1.3b" tattooed on my left arm.
Customer Review: Only good for certain tvs Summary: 3 Stars
I was tempted by the price and since I was purchasing a PS3, i wanted to get the most out of my system. I figured, what the heck, the price makes it worth a shot. How wrong I was. Just a few months ago I spent a pretty penny on a 50" 1080p plasma. I wanted my new PS3 to look the best it could with HDMI. However, the problem I ran into was when I tried to display 1080p signal. The cable displayed 480p, 720p, and 1080i just fine. Im sure I cant even tell the difference between the 1080p/i, but I wanted the best. There was noise and signal loss when using 1080p, so be warned. If your TV doesnt display 1080p, no worries, but if it does, pay a little more for what its worth. It was delivered promptly and neatly packaged, if that counts for anything.
Customer Review: No 1080p with PS3 Summary: 2 Stars
I had this cable and a 3' Phillips cable ($30) that I used to hook my laptop to my old TV (only 760). New TV came in (Samsung LN46A650), so I just unhooked the PS3 that had the cheap cable and put it into the new TV. Also got new digital cable, so used the shorter Phillips cable for that since the 3' was too short to reach the PS3. With the cheap cable, the PS3 to TV would only get 1080i... I looked online to find solutions, and nothing worked until I re-arranged my setup so the 3' Phillips cable would reach the PS3.. and 1080p worked first time. Cheap cable works fine with the cable box that only gets 1080i anyway. Only rated it two stars becuase it didn't work for the intended purpose. Works fine though as a 1080i cable (for me).
