Customer Review: Works most of the time
Summary: 4 Stars

I got the cable and have used it for a couple of months. I used it to connect my Xbox 360 to my TV. It worked initially, however after about 1 week, occasionally the picture and sound would cut out for about 3-5 seconds. Sometimes it would happen about 1-2 times per hour, sometimes about every 2-3 minutes. I tried reconnecting the cable but I still had the problem. I switched it out with a cable that came stock with a Toshiba LCD TV and the new cable has worked flawlessly. I recently got a BluRay home theater system and used the cable that came with the Toshiba TV and had some problems with it (funny picture color). I changed it out with this cable from Amazon and it has worked without any problems. When I tried it back with the Xbox 360, I had the old problems of it cutting out. When I reconnected the HDMI cable from the Toshiba TV, I also had the old problems with the colors.

I am not sure where the problem is (maybe some audiophiles can give input), not that I need any help because my current setup is working well. I am just sharing this with you because if there is any technical reason for such problems, I wouldn't rate the cable bad. In my current setup, the cable works great and is well worth saving the bucks from buying brand name cables.

Customer Review: Cheap and functional, but will not buy again
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought two of these HDMI cables back in March 2009 for the low price. One connected PS3 to receiver, and the other connected receiver to Samsung LCD HDTV. Initially, I had a little bit of trouble making the TV recognize the signal from the receiver. For some reason I had to switch the ends of the cables a couple of time and turn on the PS3, the receiver, and the TV in that order to make them work. Then, the cable between the receiver and the TV suddenly stopped working after 10 months. Since it was so cheap, I did not want to complain about the quality. But here is my suggestion. If you are considering buying this cable, it is a good idea to buy a couple of extra ones in case that one stops working and ruins your movie night.

I happened to have recently bought a spare AmazonBasics High Speed HDMI Cable (6.5 Feet / 2.0 Meters) [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging]. It worked great. There was no need to switch ends. The TV recognized the signal on the first attempt. Lesson learned: Spending a couple of extra dollars on a reliable cable can save you some time on the supposedly simple task of connecting HDMI devices.

Customer Review: Baloney
Summary: 1 Stars

Every single one of these five star reviews is baloney. These cables aren't worth the material they're made from. I ordered five cables and not a SINGLE one worked flawlessly. Every one of these five cables resulted in noise and distortion. One of them was a complete failure upon delivery and the other four barely worked. I have been afraid to set up my home theatre for the past four months fearing that moving them at all would give me a headache. Guess what? I was right.

I finally organized and tied them all down and none of them work any longer. My blu ray player gives me an error with any of them attached, but works just fine with other cables. If you are using more than 1 HDMI device and your home theatre setup is anything above an elementary level, don't bother with these cables. They'll just waste your time and effort. This is the only review I've ever written. I bought these based on the good feedback, but now I realize most people are probably lemmings.

Most people will say you can buy cheap cables and buy new ones when they fail, but don't listen to this junk advice unless you want your hard earned home theatre system to be flawed from the onset.

Customer Review: HDMI for less
Summary: 5 Stars

It burns me when I go to Radio Shack or similar stores looking for audio/video cables and they want $30 to $50 for an HDMI cable, when I can get the same thing for less than $10 at Amazon. Same thing for almost all audio/video accessories. So when you are building a home theater, look to Amazon first. Simply buy your wall mount (I suggest the Cheetah brand), your banana plugs, your video cables, your surge protector (I recommend the Monster brand - get the best one you can afford.), your speaker wire, and all the rest of the necessary stuff, and you will save a ton of money over what the retail stores charge. And do not be fooled by the hype that a $50 cable will outperform and look better than the less expensive ones. These cables perform spectacularly! Now to be fair, I purchased one inexpensive HDMI cable years ago (not from Amazon) when the Playstation 3 first came out that failed on me. It was very cheaply made, and it fit loosely in the connector and would cause the video to suddenly lose contact. These cables sold by Amazon fit tightly into the connector and have never failed, but if they ever do, I just get a new one and I'm still money way ahead of buying an expensive one.

Customer Review: Spend $3-$4 to try it out for yourself (it carries a 1080p signal)
Summary: 5 Stars

The overall feel of this cable is cheap compared to higher-priced cables, but feel and looks don't mean anything compared to performance. As far as performance, it carries a 1080p signal from my PS3 to my tv when I play a movie or Blu-ray... but when I was playing Madden 2010 it only carried a 720p. I'm not sure if it is the game itself, or if the cable isn't able to carry all of the "information" being sent from the PS3 while playing the game (I don't claim to be a tech. genius so don't know if that would even cause the problem). Fortunately my brother has the same model tv, PS3, and Madden 2010. He bought a mid-priced cable and checked his signal so that I could get a better idea on the performance of this cable. His tv also showed a 720p signal while playing Madden 2010, so I think I can safely make the assumption that this cable (as far as video signal) is equivalent with at least a mid-range HDMI cable. The sound carried by the cable was crisp as well. Regardless if you think a cheap cable can perform as well as a higher-priced cable or not, it's a no-brainer to spend $3-$4 to try it out for yourself.
