Customer Review: Worst Flash Drive I've Ever Owned

I have a D-Link powered 7-port hub that I have been using with my Compaq 8510W Mobile Workstation for the last couple of years. I have plugged dozens of devices into it without any incidents, it works beautifully.
I have owned several flash drives by different makers, but this was my first PNY. I no sooner attempted to plug it in before it caused a power surge on my hub & caused everything else on the hub to stop functioning.
I'm afraid to plug it directly into my very expensive laptop for fear that it could do the same thing.
I have never seen this warning in all my years using hubs. When my external keyboard and mouse went out, I finally got everything working again by ejecting everything and restarting my computer and reinstalling the hub. Thank goodness nothing was burned out.
I tried it a couple more times (brilliant, I admit) using the PNY as the only device on the hub and got the same problem. Also, the drive broke off from the swivel cover within a couple of tries.
I have never had a moment's grief with any other flash drive and I've been using them since the largest available was 256 megs.
I wish I'd paid more attention to the plethora of negative reviews on this cheap little piece of junk. It's definitely going back to Amazon.
