Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Philips USA PH-62050 CD/MP3/MD-To-Cassette AdapterCustomer Review: Waste of money - constantly reverses directions Summary: 1 Stars
I have had a tape adapter for my iPod since way back when they used to cost $5 and WORK. Finally the wires frayed after 5 years so I had to buy a new one and was horrified to see they are now $20+!
I went with this model because it was inexpensive but a good brand name. This adapter absolutely sucks. It constantly reverses directions in the tape deck of my car so that you have pauses in the music every 30 seconds. Don't waste your money on this one.
Customer Review: Not Good Sound Quality!!! Summary: 1 Stars
I own a General Electric MP3 Tape adapter that is over 6 years old, however it has a wiring issue that causes crackling. So I decided to replace it with this one by Philips. I was VERY disappointed in the sound quality. Even turning my speakers up all the way, the sound was much quieter and muffled. I put my GE adapter back in just to see if I was imaging things and found that it did indeed return a crisper and louder sound. I am now on the hunt for another GE!!
Customer Review: Much better then an FM Tuner. Summary: 5 Stars
Reading some of the reviews on here, its obvious some folks expect perfect audio from what is a terrible cheat with a tape player.
The quality is better then the FM transmitters, and better then most FM radio broadcasts. I've never had any of the problems described by the 1 star reviews. Maybe its because my tape deck in the 'ole Kia Sephia just isn't that high-tech. It will wear out with use, getting lower and lower quality. I've bought two so far.
Customer Review: Best adapter on the market Summary: 5 Stars
Short and sweet: had this adapter for about 10 years and gave it moderate use... finally died (cable shorted). I tried a Cody adapter and it simply did not work. So i went back to this one and it's perfect. NOTE: this adapter does not actually say Philips on it - so I couldn't remember which brand I had bought. Had I known it was Philips, I would have ordered this one right away instead of going through the return process with the Cody... BUY THIS ONE!
Customer Review: Philips PH-62050 CD-to-Cassette Converter Summary: 2 Stars
I ordered this item because it was the lowest priced of three remarkably similar devices (all had the same description and specs). It worked for about 2 weeks, and then quit. A friend with the same device suggested checking the wire connection inside the cassette, which had come loose. Since then it has come loose twice more, so I just don't use it anymore. When it worked, it worked fine, but it is at best an inexpensive and temporary solution.
