Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Philips USA PH-62050 CD/MP3/MD-To-Cassette AdapterCustomer Review: philips cassette adapter Summary: 5 Stars
Get it at Walmart for $10!! It's hit or miss with these adapters. Then, if it doesn't work, you can just return it with no problems. Don't deal with online retailers for these things, you very well may need to return it. Mine works fine in a 99 maxima. little if any mechanical grinding or stereo noise when in cassette player but not playing hum kind of sound. Got it to replace a Sony CPA-9C that I had for a cd player. The sony stopped working in my car. So far the philips works fine.
Customer Review: Another Piece Of Garbage Summary: 1 Stars
This piece of crap never worked. It just forced the tape deck to switch back and forth from forward to reverse in my Toyota Camry, though it did me a favor by forcing me to research alternatives. I ended up buying a CPTOY10AUXPD from Logjam that is a direct connection to the CD player. Fantastic solution. It's a little pricey compared to the cassette toys, but well worth it. I would normally say, you get what you pay for, but in the case of this piece of junk, anything was too much.
Customer Review: Philips MP3 to Cassette Adapter Summary: 4 Stars
This is a right product if you don't have any auxilary plug-in for MP3s in your car.
I tried wireless tune-in adapter, but there's much noise when reception is not so good and you have to adjust the channels all the time to get a better reception while you are driving. It's dangerous to do it if you are driving.
This product always delivers sincere sound output to the car speakers except that it provides average sound quality which usully tapes do, not like a CD does.
Customer Review: Avoid if you have auto reverse (or do this modification) Summary: 2 Stars
If it keeps auto reversing, open it up and take out the rubber brake and the smallest gear. If the sound is really low and lots of hissing, swtitch the tape direction or flip the tape over by switching which side the cord comes from. You can hear the plastic gears moving on the plastic housing (since they weren't designed to spin much until the brake kicks in after a few seconds), but i'm working on that with a rubber washer.
2 stars because of the required modification.
Customer Review: terrible audio quality Summary: 1 Stars
This product is terrible. More specifically , it does work, it fits into a standard car tape player and plays music, but the sound is just terrible! I am not a music fanatic, and was trying to play normal pop/rock, nothing fancy, but the quality is so bad that it fails to meet my criteria for bearable even when driving.
It might be inherent to this type of conversion (digital-audio) with such an interface, so I don't know how competing products out there fare.
