I've been looking for a solution for picking up the local stations. One station that was only 11 miles away was beyond my amplified digital rabbit ears to pull in. I mounted this in the attic, facing a wall (not shingles). After routing it though the old cable TV cables and it pulled in everything the other antenna would not. Now I get all the locals, with no problem. Mounted it with the Winegard DS-3000 J Pipe Mount, also bought here on Amazon. I am pleased, and I don't have to add local channels to my Dish account.Customer Review: Great antenna

I installed this on one leg of my tower (about 20') up so I could pull in the UHF channel in our area (about 30 mi. from transmitter). None of the digital UHF channels were receivable without it. Not only did it pull in these channels (17-1,-2,-3,-4) with excellent reception, it improved the reception on the digital VHF channels, including one which I hadn't been able to receive. I used a combiner device to join the signals from my large VHF/UHF antenna with the signal from the 4221. You can't go wrong on this one.Customer Review: Be Ready for Digital

My boss wanted to have cable TV installed in his office but I ordered this antenna, hooked it up and he has all the local channels in crystal clear digital reception. No cable bill, lots of channels! This is a great antenna that gives you HDTV if you have a flat screen. Your picture will be MUCH better with this then cable or satellite because you aren't dealing with a compressed signal being squeezed to minimum bandwidth.
It is very easy to install and should work up to 50 miles from your local towers.

I had bought a 37 element TV antenna about 5 years ago for local channels. Never preformed like I though it should. With the up and coming change to digital change over, I needed something better. This is a great product; I have a large brick church blocking my line of sight to the TV stations I was wanted to receive. This antenna does great and actually receiving stations up to 50 miles away with a Philips PH61112 antenna amp added to it. I read about this antenna on a couple sites, which recommended it as a great antenna for UHF frequencies, and not particularly directional. Unfortunately, not so for me- seems quite sensitive to direction for some channels, and doesn't have the range (even with a power amp) I'd hoped for. also - be careful who sends it to you- the one I received was pretty beat up by the time it arrived; several element were bent quite a bit out of shape, since the cardboard box it was packed in wasn't up to the task.
