Customer Review: Impressive results...
Summary: 5 Stars

I usually don't take the time to write a review but I was impressed with this item.

Our house is on top of a hill and our current anntenna mast was not pulling in the stations.

I did not want to climb the mast so I thought, "What if I install this in an unused upstairs bedroom and run a 50 foot coaxial cable to the TV downstairs?"

The result was a super clear picture and many more stations than I anticipated.

This is a good product.

Customer Review: Outstanding antenna and company
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this antenna in a final attempt to get good OTA reception. I replaced a NEW Wineguard HD822U that was pathetic, even with a Winegard AP8700 pre-amp and Channel Master's 24db preamp. I live in a 50mile+ fringe, low wooded area. The CM #4228 is AWESOME ! I receive 100% better reception and 5 more channels. The support and advice from Ron Morgan at Channel Master was outstanding. And it is less than half the price of the Winegard. Great product, great American company.

Customer Review: not so good for long range
Summary: 3 Stars

i live about 60 miles from the towers i want to recieve - most of the time I get the stations I want but not always - it is not reliable enough to give it 5 stars - when the atmosphere cooperates this does a great job but there is quite a bit of fluctuation day to day - I had a big yagi that did a much better job - better signal strength and better reliability but it did not get the high vhf stations I wanted - I think if I were a bit closer I would love this antenna

Customer Review: Great buy
Summary: 5 Stars

After the digital switchover a couple stations here switched from uhf to vhf. My old antenna was uhf only. I am 38 miles from the transmitter site and got everything between 60-80%. I then added the channelmaster 7777 preamp I now recieve every station at 100% uhf and vhf. I even pick up the low power stations I did not get before. So the channelmaster 4228hd alone did the job but I would get the 7777 along with it if your 35 miles or more from the transmitters.

Customer Review: Channel Master 4228HD Long-Range Outdoor Rooftop HDTV Antenna
Summary: 5 Stars

This antenna was easy to mount. It is lightweight and easy to transport and handle. We were able tp get all air stations available from distances of 30 to 60 miles. We compromosed the position of the antenna between two transmitter locations without any loss of picture quality. The reception is clear on all channels and the picture is excellant. The installation was in Floyd Virginia, the transmitters are in Roanoke (12 channels) and Lynchborg (2 channels).
