Coming from a recession-ista photographer, if you are looking for an inexpensive way to add to your mobile (or at-home) studio set up, this is a great addition. The moment I got it, I timed myself to see how long it would take from having it in pieces, to setting it up fully, to breaking it down and having it neatly in the carrying bags. 20 MINUTES. I'm not trying to stay on set all day, so this was great! Yes, the muslin cloth does have wrinkles in it. Seriously, bring a steamer, photoshop it out, or go to a local fabric shop and buy a 9x15 piece of polypurthene (sp?). The stands are solid, it's easy to piece together, and the carry all bags make it a cinch to move from shoot to shoot. In my opinion, unless you absolutely need high-end equipment, this is perfect for entry level AND semi-pro photographers! Keep in mind, the equipment does not make great shots, it only helps make getting them easier!Customer Review: Fanstastic!

I have a home studio and I do on location photography. I have been using a home made stand (made of pvc pipe) and backdrops (bedsheets) but now I am trying take my photography to the next step. I just set up this backdrop stand it doesn't come with directions but its super easy to put together. It took me 5 minutes at the most! The backdrops seem somewhat thin but if you have it against a white wall without any light coming through from behind it, its fantastic. I'm very excited about this backdrop stand and backdrops they are great quality and definitely worth the money! The case is great too! I will keep it short.
Both the black and white so called muslin backdrops (they are not muslins, believe me) were of the poorest grade of material imaginable. Bedsheets are thicker then these. I am basing my review as a professional and regular consumer in photo/video production business for 11 years. If i would have used these for a clients shoot they would have laughed me out of the business. I just can't get over how crappy the backdrops were. You really do get what you pay for.
The stands and cross bars are also poorly made.
My suggestion after this experience is too stay away from products made by PBL.

I bought this because it was fairly inexpensive and I needed a short term solution. I was really surprised at how sturdy the support frame is. The stands are solid, with 3/8" studs at the top, so I use them for a lot of things. They include butterfly nuts for clamping the crossbar to the stands, which makes the setup very strong and stable. The crossbar comes in four pieces that attach snug and securely to each other in 2, 3, or 4 piece lengths for variable width. The muslin backgrounds were much heavier than I expected and have stood up well. The carry bag for the frame is heavy duty and the whole package breaks down to a very convenient size.Customer Review: Perfect for Home or Travel

This set up is perfect, and it's some of the best money I've spent here!!
I works great for the beginner or pro(me ;-).
I generally shoot on-location, but I purchased this set to shoot indoors during bad weather seasons, and it is working out just as I hoped it would!!
It comes with two well built stands, and an easy to assembly Muslin pole, and one of the nicest carrying cases for travel I've owned just yet!
This product is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Best money spent in a while!!!
