Customer Review: Palm Pilot TX is GREAT! Summary: 5 Stars
I have been a Palm user for over 20 years and bought a Palm TX probably 6 years ago to replace a unit that I had dropped. The TX has performed superbly with heavy use and is absolutely indispensable to my professional life. It has never failed, perhaps, in part, to the titanium case that protects it from inadvertent abuse. I will probably purchase another when my current one dies, rather than storing everything on a "smart phone", in large part because I refuse to use Outlook. I love the Palm software and format.Palm TX Handheld with Hard Case
Customer Review: An excellent bundle Summary: 5 Stars
This item bundles the two essential items you need immediately with your new Palm: screen protectors (3) and a sturdy highly protective case. The well designed case is lightweight, sleek and slim, and is made specifically for the TX. This case is easy to slide into your pant/jacket pocket, it will hold two memory cards, provides high protection from spills (it completely encloses the Palm), and unlike many other hard cases, the lid swings a full 360 around to the backside so you can hold the palm as if it were not in case at all!! The Palm swings on a hinge to allow you to plug things in while the TX is still attached to the hinge.
Customer Review: Does Not Have Cell Phone Connectivity Capability Summary: 4 Stars
I've had my TX for over a year, and I really like it. The TX was a hugh step up from my Prism Visor. I like the wi fi connectivity feature a lot, but it you are not using a Palm Treo phone with a UNET(?) phone plan, or the right cell phone and data plan service, the TX will not allow for cell phone connectivity in the event you cannot connect via wi fi. It wasn't worth it for me to change cell plans and phone, so I deal with it. You may want to check if your cell phone carrier supports the TX protocol. It really angered me to learn this after the fact, but the device is excellent in every other way and has decent battery life.
Customer Review: minimal bells and whistles but very functional! Summary: 5 Stars
This thing is always in my pocket and I constantly use it for:
- keeping track of apointments and sync with Outlook from anywhere (needs a wifi connection, or a sync cable)
- read and answer e-mails (wifi)
- read .pdf documents. high resolution and landscape mode of the screen make it easy (well, as easy as it gets on the size of the screen) to read papers the way they look on a page.
- jotting down notes
- listening to mp3's
- show my digital pictures to friends
I have not had any glitches, failed syncs, errors.
