Customer Review: Buy with great caution!
Summary: 2 Stars

When I purchased my Palm TX, I read a few negitive reviews but paid little attention because of former good experience with the Ziar. Near the end of my 90 day warranty, the light went out. After several days working with customer support, the device was fixed. However, when it came back, the button for the calendar brought up the address book and vis versa. It worked fine for another several months. However, I have not had it a year yet and once agian the light went out. Now it is no longer covered and I am out the cost of the device and the hard case that isn't any good with out the device. I would not buy another Palm. If you do, you really should consider paying the extra money for the extended warranty. But if you are going to invest that much, you might as well buy a Blackberry or something else that is more reliabile.

Customer Review: Don't buy anything from Palm unless you can afford to loose all the data you record on their device.

I purchased a LIFEDRIVE from Palm and I was immediately thrilled with it and I rated it 5 stars. I purchased a metal protective case for it and I purchased a special remote alpha/numeric keypad. I thought it was the greatest of all the Palm devices I had ever purchased! Having left a positive feedback on this purchase I am no longer allowed to make any further comments for this specific item.

But now I have lost ten years of vital data. The LIFEDRIVE was defective. I had been buying Palm products every since they had a memory of only half a megabyte. Now I have lost all personal and business information that I acquired over all these last ten years. And when I call them for help they demanded money to simply look into the problem saying they would not be responsible for the cost of any lost data.

Customer Review: Archaic Technology

I purchased the Palm T/X to replace a Tungsten T5 that stopped working. The first T/X I received was defective and wouldn't load the software so I returned it for an exchange. I got it from Amazon because Palm doesn't even show their PDA's on their website anymore - only their phones. The replacement came in and I loaded the software with no issue. However I use the T5 in my medical practice with patients, running Epocrates software. The T5 had a blue keyboard with white letters for searching. The T/X has a very light gray keyboard with white letters that I was unable to read in my exam rooms. Contacted Palm and was told the keyboard color could not be changed. Had to return it to Amazon. Am now looking at unlocked cell phones to run my programming because I don't need another cell phone for this use.

Customer Review: Almost perfect.

I really enjoyed the Palm TX, but it had a couple downsides. The battery is not replaceable by me. I also don't like Palm's OS as much as Windows mobile, there's a lot less apps (free ones) for it. So I gave it to my dad and bought the iPAQ 111. I do miss the very nice screen of the TX, though, as well as a few features that it had that I really liked (such as opening right back up to whatever app you were using when shutting it down.) It had one weird thing that happened, if I charged it up regularly from the outlet, then attached it to the computer, it would act like the battery was shot and totally not work unless I charged it up a bit and reset it. Don't know what that was all about. Also, the wi-fi didn't work with our home wi-fi, but I think that it was 811b and we had x or somesuch.

Customer Review: Nice PDA
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought the PDA instead of the Treo because I didn't want to pay for a data plan as well as a voice plan. I chose the Palm TX with the hard case because it could go online, keep my calendar, lists, memos, and Office documents/sheets.
Overall, it works well. I haven't used the Office stuff much, but the Word works well. The colors are bright on the screen and the different apps are fairly easy to get too. It is a bit of a bummer that you have to go back to the main page/table of contents in order to get to another application.
The hard case works well although it is slippery. Plus, it's hard to get open at first. Remember to push the side with the arrow back a little bit.
I like my purchase and it does make my life easier. I wish it would stay on longer though.
