Customer Review: Overall Great Hand Grip - Definately Worth the Money
Summary: 4 Stars

This is by far my most favorite accessory for my camera. I hate having the neck strap dangling all over. This is very comfortable. A couple of things could be improved. The actual strap needs a little more reinforcement. I think the metal piece on the camera will eventually cut through the nylon before the rest of the strap will wear out. The strap could be a little wider. When it passes through the padded section, that tends to bend over on itself because the strap is very narrow. I love having the camera attached to my hand. I took the camera out in New Orleans on Bourbon Street and felt completely safe like no one would try and rip it out of my hands or cut the strap and run. Overall, I would not hesitate to buy another one when this one wears out, even without the needed changes.

Customer Review: Good deal for the price
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm not an expert w/handstraps, but this one seems to do the trick. There we no instructions on how to install this handstrap (seemed easy enough to me until I actually started to install it). I recommend referencing the additional pictures when installing. They show the correct front/back of the strap (for comfort purposes, the "Opteka" label should face towards the back). When I pulled mine out of the package, it was backwards, so I had to pull the strap out from the comfort pad and reinstall it.

All in all, a solid product well worth the money. Honestly, it even looks better (and more comfortable) than the other handstraps that are 3x as much. I use mine with my Nikon D80, and it works greak (and no additional "vertical" grip required to fit/feel great).

Customer Review: Forces awkward hand position
Summary: 3 Stars

I'm not wild about how this fits on my Canon T1i. When you have the strap tight enough to be effective, it forces your hand into a position nearly perpendicular to the camera body. This is uncomfortable, makes it difficult to reach the buttons easily, and makes it very awkward to raise the camera to your eye. It is also awkward to shoot with the camera oriented vertically.

Based on some other reviews, it sounds like this strap might work better if you have a battery grip. I think that the battery grip would give you some extra room inside the strap, and that would allow you orient your hand in a more natural position.

The quality of the strap seems good. If you know that you like using this type of strap, I think this one would be a good choice.

Customer Review: opteka wrist grip
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this product thinking it would be a huge improvement over a regular neckstrap but have not been real happy with it. If you snug it up to where it feels as though the camera is secure you lose the ability to push all the buttons and controls. So you end with a very loose strap so that you can push all the buttons and it feels as though the camera is not secure.
The product materials are adequate for the job and strength does not seem to be an issue.
It is in the way for battery changing but that is a minor inconvenience.
If I could figure out a descent way of adjusting this strap so that I could push all the buttons and controls and still feel like I had a good grip of the camera I would be happy.

Customer Review: Save your ten bucks.
Summary: 1 Stars

This strap is at best awkward and in reality pretty useless. It basically is like something that a garage inventor came up with, then gave to Soviet engineers, who in turn mass produced it in a province in China that had never before seen a camera. It's really hard to adjust in any way and once you have it on your camera, you might as well leave it on forever, or lose your mind ever trying to ever adjust it correctly again. I'm sure there's a better design out there somewhere, and that's what I'll look for. It would be too big for a light entry-level DSLR and it's kind of too clunky for a semi-pro or pro SLR. It also is made of a material that makes your hand sweat like it's stuck in a plastic bag.
