I bought this item to take to the Olympic Mountains for use with my new HD camcorder. I attached my camera to the monopod and there it stayed for the whole trip. It is very easy to adjust for height and light enough to be no bother at all. I even filmed while driving with the pod in its collapsed condition. And as others have said, it is a great walking stick. It stayed exactly as I set it on every occasion.Customer Review: Can't handle a real lens

I used my Opteka monopod 2 times before it broke. I was using a heavy lens only shifting the weight slightly from side to side and the screw from the mount snapped off. I had it longer than the 30 day return period so now I have to buy a new one. I think I'll put out the extra cash for a decent one. I guess I have a hiking stick now. To bad the highest point within 200 miles is only 44 feet above sea level.Customer Review: Great Item for the Price

This monopod is very sturdy. For the price, it did impress me. I do not use any large telephoto lens, but the point-and-shoot, digital SLR and HDD video camera all fit and work well with this item. The only thing to keep an eye on is that pointy traction peg on the bottom. Make sure the rubber foot is screwed down to cover it before you set this on a wooden or other non-carpeted floor.

I like that the monopod is long enough that I don't need to stoop to use it. I'm 6'3", so that was one of the attributes I looked for. It is well built and light weight. The top swivels horizontally, which is unneeded on a monopod. It would be better if the swivel allowed vertical rotation. I use a vertical swivel from a tripod on mine. Without it, the monopod would be practically useless to me.Customer Review: Great Quality, Great Price!

Wow - I was not expecting such a great monopod for such a cheap price. All I really wanted was something cheap I could carry around for a little extra stabilization during a photo shoot, and this product really delivers. It has the perfect length, it isn't too heavy, but it is really sturdy. The carrying case is great, too.
All around, I highly recommend this monopod!
