Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Opteka DF-TFT8 8-Inch Digital Picture Frame with 128MB Built-In Memory (Black)Customer Review: It does not get better then this. Summary: 5 Stars
Amazing. This is a great buy just for the ease of looking over my pictures without having to look at them with the tiny LCD screen on the back of the camera or having to download everything on the computer first. Most of all, this is ideal for when we have friends and family over. I have had many comments about my frame.
Simply insert your memory card into the slot, turn on the display and sit back and enjoy your pictures. The screen is bright and colorful. I like that you can not only look at your images, but you can also watch videos and listen to music. I like putting music to my videos or images.
Pros
- Nice way to show off pictures
- Accepts multiple memory cards
- Can put slideshow to sound
- Internal memory, so you do not need to tie up your memory card
Cons
- No issues so far =]
I own the 8" model but they also make a 7".
Opteka 7" Digital Picture Frame with 128mb Built-In Memory - Plays MP3 and Video
Customer Review: Great Resolution - faulty built in memory Summary: 4 Stars
Just got this frame a couple days ago. The product is beautiful. Great Resolution and Very Nice Looking frame. However, the onboard memory drive is faulty and I am unable to upload images. The drives appear in my windows explorer, then dissapear, then reappear....I have tried copying photographs to it, only to recieve an windows error message that the computer cannot recognize the drive/device. This is not a huge deal, but I did have to go out and buy a second memory card.
Also, the frame won't read jpegs that I created in photoshop. They appear as a thumbnails on the device but will not display during slide show. I am not sure what the problem is with that - yet. The manual is very limited. I have tried contacting customer service (only option is via email) we'll see if I get any response.
Overall it is a great frame - this is the third frame I have purchased and the only one I will keep. I returned the other 2 because of terrible resolution and overall shoddy quality. This one, despite its flaws is a keeper.
Customer Review: Has some problems, but is good overall Summary: 4 Stars
Provides good picture quality, and is fairly easy to use, but I had the following complaints:
1)Problems loading music - I bought this as a Christmas gift, and wanted to put a Christmas song on it, so I downloaded one from iTunes. The iTunes format would not work, so I tried ripping the song and putting the WMA format on the frame, but it still didn't play.
2)Limited instruction manual - When faced with the problem above, I consulted the instructions for music file compatibility. The only info I could find seemed to correlate with video file formatting.
3)Issues with the remote control - It is sometimes difficult to use, having to be at the most precise angle to work. The signal also seems to get scrambled somewhere along the way as well. Sometimes when browsing photos, I'll push left and the cursor will go up, etc.
Customer Review: Nice Picture, with Limitations Summary: 4 Stars
The picture is great. I resized all of my pictures using a photoshop script so they wouldn't be too big. It is short on instructions and the interface is difficult to use, but nice looking, but after it's set up, it's a nice frame. This frame is 800x600 resolution and has decent transitions. It does not support SDHD cards (usually over 4GB). It seems to freak out for me when the image count exceeds 1600 images on an SD card, so more than 2GB of data probably wouldn't work anyways. It has good viewing angle from the sides and top, but if you're looking up at it at all, the picture goes dark. (we have it sitting on top of something about 4-5 feet high, and when we sit on the couch we can't see the image well.) I'd say you need to have a 30 degree or less viewing angle from the bottom. I don't know if this is a limitation of all digital frames.
Customer Review: Good Digital Picture Frame Summary: 4 Stars
It's a good basic digital picture frame. It's well packed in the box and looks to be well build. Preforms as described with two caveats.
First they don't include the USB cable. This isn't a big deal for me as I have several laying around from other items but it is a big deal for my grandmother who isn't known for having extra USB cords at her house...
Second you only get once picture source at a time. If you are using the internal memory you can only use internal memory, if you are using a SD card you can only use the SD card slot.
Neither are a huge deal, just something to know going in.
