Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Opteka 70" Full Size Professional Photo / Video TripodCustomer Review: A wonderful Tripod for the price Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great tripod for it's price range, with lightweight but sturdy construction and a surprising height. I do a lot of video shooting on the go, and this tripod really fits the bill. It's very light, and is easy to carry around in the bag that comes with it. Fully compressed and in it's bag, it's only about 27" long, which is certainly small enough to put in a large bag or just sling over your shoulder. Although it's light, if you take care of it, it will be sturdy enough to last quite a while. Mine had a hook at the bottom for weights, as well, which seems to be something that was missing from some people's. For most people, I'd say it's certainly enough to fit most of your photography/video needs.
Customer Review: Good for the price Summary: 4 Stars
So the first thing to remember about this tripod is how much it costs. It didn't cost much at all, as tripods go, so we can't bash it and say it was a rip-off or that it sucks. It is actually perfect for me. I take it on road trips in the back of the car and it is great. I am a bit of a youtuber and it works awesome for shooting videos inside and outside. I just use a small digital point and shoot for both stills and videos. This is no good for a professional or for an abusive/harsh environment. But, for that matter, if you use a tripod that much (i.e. professionally) you are probably not going to even look at a $30 tripod. This thing is great. I don't have to set my camera on books or anything anymore!
Customer Review: Tripod Summary: 4 Stars
This is the first tripod I've ever really "owned" but I have used others before. This one is pretty sturdy and lightweight (easy to carry around) compared to others I have used. The only thing that I have found is that fine tuning the head position takes a little getting used to, it tends to stick when making small adjustements and suddenly gives really fast causing it to over correct. That is the only real gripe I have with it so far though. You can't beat the price though and it does what tripods do I suppose, well at least it holds the camera steadier than I can. Shipping and everything was excellent and on time, I guess I might be too easily impressed... who knows.
Customer Review: Great value, reasonable prosumer-grade tripod Summary: 4 Stars
While not in the same class as a Manfrotto or a Gitzo, this tripod is quite usable. It's best suited either as a lightweight but full size tripod for travel, or for prosumer use where you need something cheap but reliable.
The tripod legs are about as solid as possible, given the light weight. I haven't noticed any wobble from the legs, and this part of the tripod could be made even more steady by hanging some weights from the tripod's hook. The head is not quite as steady, with a small amount of wiggle even if you lock everything down. Try to use a shutter release cable or remote for any sort of long exposure, and it won't be a big problem.
Customer Review: Good bargain tripod! Summary: 4 Stars
For the money, you can't buy a better tripod. First off, I ordered it on Tuesday, it shipped on Wednesday and arrived on Friday! The tripod is very sturdy and is easily adjustable. The carrying bag is a nice touch as well. It's very lightweight, but stays sturdy even fully extended. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars is that it came with no documentation. The box says that it has a 10 year limited warranty, but there's no written documentation with warranty information included. There's also no instructions, but even though this is my first tripod, it took all of 2 minutes to figure out all the adjustments. For the price, you can't beat it.
