This is probably the best hollow black metal tube you can buy.
Let's face it: that's what this is. Well, okay, it also has a 46mm Female thread on the small end and a 52mm Female thread on the large end, but that's it. It simply (very simply) enables one to attach 52mm filters and other accessories to the Panasonic Lumix LX3. The most frustrating thing about such a basic accessory enabler (it's barely an accessory itself) is that it doesn't just come with the camera.
The actual unit received may look different from the one pictured here. Whereas the image shows a straight, tapered line from the narrow end to the wide end, the one I received has a more dramatic, parabolic curve half way down the barrel, making it look almost like a two-piece... and almost like it's more than it is... which it isn't.
No less than three stars because it is exactly what it purports to be; no more than three stars because what it purports to be isn't much.
