Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Onkyo DXC390 6 Disc CD PlayerCustomer Review: Player Limitations Summary: 2 Stars
I like the display ( Artist, Album, Song title, Folder Title) It plays the cd's that it will play fine, however I found the following limitations: 1. It will not play cd's burned with a lightscribe burner all the way through. 2. There are some mp3 downloads (from amazon) that it will not play) I asked amazon agents to at least advise their customers of this, but no luck. 3. it doesn't seem to recognize sub-folders. If you knew these limitations it would not be so frustrating.

I've had nothing but trouble with my unit. With brand new CD's it sometimes will play all the CD's loaded, sometimes not. I have to turn the machine off and on and otherwise it will refuse to play CD #2 or #4 or whatever. If you are looking for a CD player that you just load up CD's and hit play this unit does not work, but the CD's play just fine in my older CD player. Onkyo support does not call/email/write back. This was a new unit. I suggest you save your money.
Customer Review: Near-perfect, but don't buy if you play your music loudly and have a woofer Summary: 4 Stars
I only have one complaint about this unit: when I crank up the volume, it skips like crazy during moments of heavy bass. This makes the unit basically worthless, and I'm not just talking about for rock & roll: I just listened to Dvorak's 9th symphony, and it skipped on the louder tympani parts. I originally rated this unit 4 stars, and have now edited my review based on more bad experiences, but this stupid rating system won't let me edit the number of stars I gave it.
Customer Review: Mellifluous is a Mild Sonic Equivalent Term for this Machine Summary: 5 Stars
After eleven years my old Sony five disk changer finally fatally failed. I quickly searched the internet for a replacement. Amazon.com was the first place to search. After a short wait of about one week I had the DX-C390 hooked up to my Legacy high-current amp and played Kenny G through $6K Legacy speakers. The result was a sonorous banquet of rich, crisp and accurate sound.
This is like getting a new stereo system for less than $200.00.
I have chosen wisely.
Customer Review: outstanding Summary: 5 Stars
this is a truly surperb product, it now only holds 6 cd's but plays flawlessly, i make my cd's with a plextor cd burner(plextor is the best for coping anything, the burn is deep and never have i had one not play in any cd player), the controls are easy to use and setup is a breeze, i have it connected to an onkyo 8522 receiver with bose speakers, the sound is tremendous. i would recommend this highly to anyone interested in a quality player that works perfectly
