This product is OK. It served the purpose for which it was purchased. I simply needed a shelve to hold a cable TV box. What I did not like about it is it swivels to the left or right too easily. Installation was easy enough but the hardware it came with did not allow installation into drywall. I had to purchase additional hardware to allow me to install it properly and safely. Wall studs don't always line up with the location where you want to install it thus drywall installation may be necessary. On a scale of 1 to 10, it gets a 6 from me.Customer Review: Good Product, Sturdy, well made, easy to install

We bought two of these shelves for our bedroom. One is holding a Tivo and the other is holding a cable box and DVD player. It was pretty easy to install and is working great! I would suggest mounting it directly into a beam as that is the best support you can get. The screws that they provide are okay, but perhaps not the best quality. The heads started to strip on someone of them. I went to Home Depot and picked up some Lag Bolts for a couple bucks that worked better; this is the only reason I am giving it a 4 instead of a five.Customer Review: don't buy this sucks...

I bought the wall tv mount and this componet shelf together. the tv mount was perfect and this one is sucks.
1 the idea is good but the size is wrong. it's too wide for the dvd player and very heave .
2 the nails are not working at all. they are not at strong as it should.you can't use it for hang the shelf. you must buy the new one from the hardware store if you want to keep it
3 looks dirty and strange
I have to return it and tell anyone----don't buy this sucks!

It worked just as we expected. It is very sturdy. I attached it to a stud and have no worries about weight. The tempered glass is very sturdy. The only improvement I wish were present is the ability to lock the swing arm in a certain position. It's not a big issue as long as you make sure the shelf is absolutely level when mounting it. If levelled correctly, it will stay in the desired position. However, without the ability to lock it out, incidentally knocking the shelf requires you to re-position it.Customer Review: I LOVE my OmniMount ECSB Component Shelf.

The very first thing I did upon opening the box the mount was delivered in (after inspecting the mount, that is) was to dig out the instruction and read them in advance. The manual is in pictograph form, and every detail is laid out in an easy to understand manner. I got all my tools together, selected the stud I was going to attach the mount to, made my level marks, drilled the holes and was done in 20 minutes. I note that some folks commenting here did not stud or concrete mount. What were you all thinking?
