Customer Review: Beware of this chip in an ASUS Eee 1000h Summary: 1 Stars
This is the third recent review reporting that an ASUS Eee 1000h only recognizes 1 gb of the 2 gb memory on this chip, which Amazon is promoting for use in that computer via a link on the computer's page. Either many of these chips have a problem in the Asus or the returns are being sent out again. The package I received was one that clearly had been opened before. In either case, time and money are better spent on a different SODIMM.
Customer Review: Fried my Computer Summary: 1 Stars
I put this memory upgrade into an Asus eeePC that was working fine. After I did so the machine was dead - it wouldn't even try to turn on. I had to send it back for a new one. I have no idea what happened, but I stayed with the 1 GB that came with the replacement netbook and it's doing fine. I'll live with 1 GB of RAM. I can't prove cause and effect just that inserting the new memory was followed by the demise of the PC that received it.
Customer Review: Works Solid Summary: 4 Stars
Decided to upgrade to 2gb memory for my Asus eee 1000HE as many people did.
Read the reviews here and followed as what many people said.
I replaced w/ original 1gb memory & netbook recognized 2gb & worked just fine. Tell you the truth, I have no idea how 1gb memory works on eee 1000HE, because I switched them even before turn on the netbook for the first time. It has been almost a month and hopefully lasts long.
Customer Review: Easy upgrade Summary: 5 Stars
I definitely wanted to upgrade my EEE 1000H from 1GB to 2GB. Replacing the 1GB stick wasn't particularly difficult, but I did experience the same problem that most reviewers here did after installing the 2GB stick. Namely, that the BIOS had to be updated before the new memory was recognized. Fortunately, after reading the reviews here, I figured out how to do it and now the memory has been recognized. Hooray.
