Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of NorCross HawkEye F33P Fish FinderCustomer Review: Lake St Clair and Simcoe Summary: 4 Stars
I used this locator on Lake St Clair ( ice fishing) in water about 4-7 ft and as the instructions state...it wont give an accurate fish reading in less than 10 ft. When we used it at Lake Simcoe in Canada, it worked great. When we went to 60 ft of water over 1 ft of ice, it would not give a depth unless I put the gain all the way up. In less than 60 ft (58 ft) Perfect...good depth and fish alert worked great. For the price, this small unit gets the job done.
Customer Review: good value Summary: 4 Stars
The unit was purchased mainly for ice fishing and it has performed well. Not very good in shallow water, but they tell you that. It will shut down in cold temps and you will have to warm it up. I really like the portability and ease of use. It will definitly help you catch more fish. No more drilling 100 holes trying to locate fish. I will use it this spring also on a small river I fish. Hopefully it will help me locate some nice walleye or smallmouth.
Customer Review: just what I needed Summary: 5 Stars
I fish from a canoe and wanted a fish finder that was small, did not require a huge battery and gave basic depth and bottom types plus indicated fish. This does all I was looking for. I can put it in my shirt pocket. I get an additional benefit by holding the transducer and pointing it away from the canoe. and it does a great job of indicating fish up to 100 feet away.
Works just great. I am very pleased with this product.
Customer Review: First day of use.....failed Summary: 2 Stars
First day of use, I took it to Newcastle beach in Washington. Read instruction, powered up and ran simulation. Launched it in water from dock, where I could clearly see the seaweed below about 5 ft. The hawkeye give me "---" in depth and no indication of seaweed. Tried many times still the same. It failed to tell depth and identify seaweed in all sentivity, even the water was so clear.
Customer Review: good value for the money Summary: 4 Stars
the unit works extremely well, the audible alarm is quite loud inside a fishing shanty, and we caught one of the first 3 fish it spotted cruising around halfway down. The only problem is making sure the sensor unit is fully plugged into the body of the fish finder. you have to press quite hard before you hear and feel the 'snap'. once that problem was solved the unit worked flawlessly.
