Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of NorCross HawkEye F33P Fish FinderCustomer Review: Norcross fish finder Summary: 4 Stars
The hand held mobility of the device really helps when you are in the bright sun because you can change the angle easily to help avoid the glare. The device really helps a lot, more than I can image. I have dropped it a few times and it still works fine. In the past when we went fishing in a larger pond or lake, without knowing where the fish is and just relying on random guessing we would not have such a luck. With not too much cost at this sightat , this is a must have item if you plan to go boat-fishing on a lake. Some days, the fish just do not bite. It will save you lots of trial and error time and save you the frustration. I chose to buy this device based on the good review from other people who purchased it before. I took it out to a lake on a boat and it works very well. It gives the depth of the location and under water structure if it exists, or weed bed when it is present. When the fish swims by, it can let you know the depth of the fish just swimming by. After I observed the pattern of the fish depth, I set the hook/worm at the right depth and immediately we caught 1 muskie and 2 walleye within 20 minutes, each clam got us a result.

Norcross Hawkeye FF3355P Fish Finder
Ordered this a couple of weeks ago to use on our new 10 foot Bass Boat which we'd purchased recently. Paid the extra for overnight shipping, which didn't work out. At least our shipping cost was refunded although we missed using the fish finder that weekend, we finally got to take it out on a test spin last week.
Overall we are very pleased with the Hawkeye. It does exactly what it says it does and is easy to use and understand. The only thing we would change if we could is to make it possible to save the settings so that you wouldn't have to reset it everytime you turn it off and on. Other than that its a great product for the price and we would highly recommend it as both as a fish finder and a depth finder.
Compact, easy to use and works great!
Customer Review: Excellent Device that works like a charm Summary: 5 Stars
I chose to buy this device based on the good review from other people who purchased it before. I took it out to a lake on a boat and it works very well. It gives the depth of the location and under water structure if it exists, or weed bed when it is present. When the fish swims by, it can let you know the depth of the fish just swimming by. After I observed the pattern of the fish depth, I set the hook/worm at the right depth and immediately we caught 1 striped bass and 2 rainbow trouts within 20 minutes, each worm caught a fish. The device really helps a lot, more than I can image. In the past when we went fishing in a lake (w/o this device) without knowing where the fish is and just relying on "guessing", we would not have such a luck. With anout $50 at Amazon, this is a must have item if you plan to go boat-fishing on a lake. It will save you lots of try-and-error time and save you the frustration.
Customer Review: It Actually Works! Summary: 5 Stars
Unlike the Humminbird RF35, the Norcross Hawkeye can actually detect the fish!
I've used both, the Humminbird works fine as a depth finder, but has difficulty detecting fish. The Hawkeye, on the other hand, sees them.
Case in point, on a recent trip to Crane Prairie Reservoir (Oregon) we were looking for bass. According to the Hawkeye there weren't any fish when we checked their usual holding spots. When we finally moved over to the channel the Hawkeye started detecting fish (and we caught a few). Apparently the heat made the fish move to the deeper parts of the lake. Same thing happened on Paulina and Big Lava lakes. Without the Hawkeye we probably wouldn't have caught a thing!
Also, the Hawkeye uses plain old AAA batteries, unlike the Humminbird which uses an expensive lithium-ion 2450CR watch battery. (The AAAs seem to last longer, too.)
Customer Review: Great Portable Depth/Fish Finder Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for an inexpensive fish finder to use for my canoe and had read some positive things about the Hawkeye so I purchased it. Its fairly simple to use and it works just fine. Shows the depth, which appears to be very close. It also shows fish and their depth along with debris/grass on the bottom, which you can change the sensitivity for different water types (clear to murky). The only negative thing I can say about it is the plug from the sonar to the unit. You think its pushed in all the way but you get no readings, so you push it in harder and although it doesn't feel like it moved, it starts working. There are a couple of spots in the manual where they stress to push it in hard and check it first if it doesn't work, so I assume the bad design has caused a lot of complaints in the past. All in all though, I recommend it as a great fish finder for the money.
