I got two of these routers to bridge my livingroom to my office where my cable modem comes in. My last network was supposed to be an upgrade to a/b/g so that I could stream media to my 360 and PS3 more reliably. Unfortunately, the Linksys hardware I bought was horrible.
I got the two Netgear routers and bridged them together so that one resides in my livingroom and is wired to my media center PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
The setup was fairly straight forward and I found the information I needed on the Netgear support forums.
Speed is great and I have had zero need to reset either of my routers.

Setup is simple if you take the time to read the instructions and go thru the setup CD. For some unknown reason the CD takes a long time to load. You must have the PC with the setup CD connected directly to the cable modem with the supplied cable, otherwise the setup will NOT work.
Coverage is much better than G and extends much further out. Just installed it so have no history on the longevity. So far I've had no disconnects and haven't had to reboot the modem connection like I've had to do with Belkin one I had prviously. It also feels faster than the DLink N with rangebooster that I had.

I have been searching for agood router for over 2 months, I had very different reviews on many routers,some say linksys is better, some say netgear is better ,some say d- link is better.
so what I did , I bought all of them and I install them one by one in my house. they were all easy to install , easy to navigate but for the best speed and the best range . I used the same computers with all of them.the linksys and the d -link didn't have agood rang up stairs for my laptop or through out the whole house. but this route wnr83m is the winner . so I choose it and I returned the rest.

I just bought the Netgear WNR834B RangeMax N Wireless Router on sale at Walmart for $69.97. This is my first router we just got a laptop so we needed a router. I was worried a bit about setting one up since it would be my first time but the set up was a breeze with the included set-up CD. The step by step instructions was the easiest set-up I ever came across with anything. It took hardly no time at all and it works great first try. How good is that? I live in a bi-level home and the laptop works great downstairs. I would highly recommend this product. Easy installation all the way!!Customer Review: Dirt Simple, Worked Great Out of the Box

I pickup up a refurbished unit, and it worked great out of the box. No issues. I wanted to replace my old access point, which didn't reach the one place I need access.
I had already tried a dlink g model with high gain antenna, and a different Netgear g router.
I bought this based on a no-brainer, refurb price, figuring I'd return it if I couldn't get adequate signal in the one location I need. No problem. Previously, lost signal all the time, Netflix and Hulu would stall, choke and die. Now, absolutely no problem. Recommend this product wholeheartedly.
