What a great product! I plugged a PS3, xbox360, two computers, and our DSL cable (all ethernet cables) into this switch and now all four systems have internet connection. It was that simple!
My only regret is that I got didn't get the 8-port switch. I didn't realize that the DSL connection goes in one of these front 5 ports. I thought perhaps there was a port in the back (similar to a USB hub). I was hoping to have one port available to plug a laptop in, but the four systems and DSL connection uses all five available ports.

After it was already to late, I was thinking that I might not be able to share a connection with another person in my room. I needed something so I could get extra cord length and I got it with this. All I did was plug in the ethernet cord (RJ45) from my router to this device and plug in the other two ethernet cords. Then I turned it on and voila... instant connection between two computers in my room. One being a friends laptop. It works great and it required very little out of me. It even comes with a wireless hook up in the back.Customer Review: First time using a netgear, I love it!!

I do a lot of networking with other businesses (Linksys and belkin) love the Linksys and the belkin both.
I am very happy with this switch, it workes great without problems (sofar), connects easely and smoothly with-out trouble.
I love this switch.
It says, connect and use, I just connected all the cables, with in seconds, it was working GREAT with no problems.
I recomend this to anyone.
If anything goes wrong, I will update.

I thought this product would allow me to run my X-Box 360 and Laptop on the internet so that I could stream movies from Netflix. It is the most un-useful product i've bought inthe last 5 years! You need a router to run the setup that I require. There need to be more info. on such products so that first time users do not WASTE THERE MONEY. Also there is a long standing policy about electronics that if it is open It cannot be returned So I am out $ 25.00 on this product. With so many A/V devices being internet capable now, a switch like this is a must. With a internet capable TV, Blu-Ray player, Xbox, and DISH DVR this small switch provides a perfect way to easily connect them to my DSL connection.
Set-up was as simple as plugging it all in. Seriously, that's all.
The footprint of the switch is so small that I was able to mount it to the back of my AV cabinet where all the wires could be hidden.
This is how tech should be, simple and easy!
