By solid product I mean in terms of performance AND the product itself. The unit itself is made of metal and with every room in the house wired this is the second FS105NA switch I have put on my network. I WAS using a cheap plastic switch but it had a 10MB throughput limit and since upgrading to this one the kids are much happier since their games and chat sessions are faster. If I had to add a THIRD unit I would definitely purchase another Netgear product.Customer Review: Does what it says it will for a good price

Ridiculously easy installation, works flawlessly, and is fairly priced. Just connect your modem to the router with one Ethernet cable and then you have four other ports to connect four other PCs, laptops, Macs, whatever. No software needed, just plug it in and you're done. If you need extra ports for your internet connection then I recommend this. The wall mount is pretty much just two screws which I haven't used yet, but when I do it too looks pretty simple.Customer Review: Netgear Switch Port

It works perfectly fine. I got this product cause my wireless router ports were all used up and needed more for my pc, and blu-ray player, and xbox 360, and works fine. Only problem I have is the power cord doesn't fit in the Switch port it keeps slipping out. But I just tied it with some string and its good enough for me as long as it works. xD I'm sure if I returned it and got another one it would work alot better. Although this says its five ports, its not really. One port is taken up with your internet link, so you can attach four additional items to this. This switch comes with a power supply so you need a plug near by to use it. It worked right out of the box without needing to install any software. I have a Windows 7 laptop and a Sony BluRay player attached to it. I feel I have definitely gotten my money's worth. The problem was: I had one cat5E ethernet connection in the audio/video cabinet and 2 devices I wanted to connect to the internet. This switch was a great solution. I have a Roku and a Squeezebox duet connected through the switch and they work perfectly. I have had no problems streaming video through the Roku at the same time I'm streaming music through the Squeezebox playing on speakers in a another room. I'm very happy with this switch.
