Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of NZXT CRYO LX Aluminum Notebook Cooler 15-Inch to 19-Inch with 120MM Adjustable Fans - Black (CRYO LX BLACK)Customer Review: I paid how much for this not to work? Summary: 1 Stars
First off, if you have a high powered laptop like me, save your money and look elsewhere. You can buy a cooling pad at Best Buy cheaper that works better. I have a Gateway P-7811FX laptop and it runs hot, very hot, like burn the hair off your body hot (not exaggerating.) Therefore I need a cooling pad that will help keep my laptop from overheating will playing a videogame, which is its main function. However, this cooling pad doesn't work hardly at all. I can barely run Oblivion at mid-high settings for more than 10-15 minutes before my graphics card overheats and shuts off. This was a total disappointment, and an expensive one at that.
Customer Review: Very Good Notebook Cooler Summary: 5 Stars
We purchased a new notebook and decided to get a cooler too . This one fills the bill . It's just the right size for our 17+" notebook and holds it at pretty close to the perfect angle . It's a little slippy but after cleaning it with a little window cleaner is was somewhat better . I had a non-slip pad that came with an old mp3 player ( mesh type material allowing air flow ) and I just put it under the notebook and it stays put now .
My husband uses it with the wooden tray that I just reviewed and it fits with about 1.5" to spair on each side . He uses it to hold his notebook in his recliner ( he's disabled ) .
Customer Review: Big, Bulky, and Damaged Summary: 1 Stars
If it actually worked like it's supposed to I can see how this would be a great product. It is big and bulky, but very quiet...UNTIL....I moved it a little bit to scoot it further on the table and it started clicking incessantly. I played around with it in different positions to try and get it to stop. When it wouldn't, I flipped it over and found that the metal was warped and bowed (dented inwards) and the fan was hitting the metal, causing the clicking. It definitly seemed like a manufacturing problem, not damaged in shipping. I retured for a refund and have re-ordered a new one. Hopefully it was a one time problem.
Customer Review: A Cooler Pad Summary: 4 Stars
ThinkPad, that is. I didn't think I'd need the cooler, but I'm real glad I got this one, for it works exactly as advertised. And as others observe: It's rugged and thus isn't something to lug around or drop; it's not whisper-quiet but I'd rather know it's running; its efficiency is somewhat dictated by the configuration of your laptop's fan and heat exhaust; the USB hub sometimes acts a little flaky but show me a hub that doesn't (hint: be sure to properly unplug the USB hardware you'd plugged in); and AC power is the only way to go, for the cooler will otherwise drain your extended battery pack faster than Dr Doom.
Customer Review: Best yet so far Summary: 5 Stars
i have been searching for a notebook cooler for 2 years plus. i took into consideration a lot of brands such as cooler master, zalman, thermaltake. after a lot of research i decided to give nzxt a try seeing one of my friend has one. it is a bit heavy but i don't take it anywhere but leaving it just on the table so it is not a big problem for me. the fan are great and the material is really well built. keeps my notebook cold because i am using the gaming notebook the ASUS G51J. and believe me that notebook is really hot. but after using the cooler i dont feel as much heat as before. is a must buy notebook cooler =D
