Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of NZXT CRYO LX Aluminum Notebook Cooler 15-Inch to 19-Inch with 120MM Adjustable Fans - Black (CRYO LX BLACK)Customer Review: Nice Cooling Pad for Larger Laptops Summary: 5 Stars
I've owned this cooling pad for about a month, now. I'm using it with a 18" HP HDX Premium Series entertainment laptop. The laptop extends slightly over the right and left sides, but this is no big deal for me. I've read that the fan noise bothered some people, but I can't hear it unless I crank it all the way to the top and even then it's just a slight whisper. This cooling pad really works on my laptop. Before I got the pad my laptop would shutdown from overheating quite often. This pad has fixed that issue completely. The laptop used to get so hot that it hurt to touch the keys, but this cooling pad has a real nice three fan system that keeps my laptop nice and cool. This pad is more expensive than other cooling pads, but this was one of the few I found that would actually fit my laptop. I really recommend this cooling pad for bigger laptops.
Customer Review: A little noisy but good Summary: 4 Stars
I write simulations that run both cores of my Lenovo Thinkpad T61p at 99-100% and the typical temperatures I get from sensor readings are 89 C. This cooler reduces the temperature by 10-15 C with the fans at high. Plenty of holes for air flow. The pad is suitable for laptops bigger than mine, which has a 15.4" screen. It is bulky but light - folds for transportation. No manuals but doesn't need any. I expected the fans to be silent except for the whoosh from the air flow but that is not the case - the fans do make a little bit of noise. The Lenovo laptops have their processor cores on the far left corner of the laptop body so the laptop cannot be placed in a natural way on the cooler for the air flow to make contact with the hottest spot. But this is more of a design issue with the Thinkpad than with any laptop cooler.
Customer Review: WOW!! This is the BOMB!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I just bought a Alienware M17 with all the duckets and to say the least this cooling pad is a must have for high end notebook users. Alienware owners know that their laptops tend to get a little warm. This beauty will solve that problem for you. After placing my laptop ontop of this thing and playing FALLOUT 3 at max settings I never heard my pc fans come on until I was running for about 2 hours, and then the pc fans came on for a bit and then shutdown. The only thing that was wrong with this is that once I got it I had to take it apart, real quick and easy to do by the way, and adjust the little mount pads for the fans so the fan themselves would stop rubbing on them. After that little adjustment this thing was so quiet even on full power. Great buy and definitely worth the extra bucks if you have them.
Customer Review: So cold I put a blanket on Summary: 5 Stars
One day I was using this in my room and I felt a strong draft. I blocked the door coming into the room and sat back down. As I sat there I realized that the draft was still there. This being a barracks room I knew it was cold and draftiness could come from the window. I set down my drink on my desk and realized then that it was no draft, it was the coldness of this notebook cooler! It was so chilly I turned it down! To this day I'm still amazed at that.
On the more tecnical side, this is a great large notebook cooler. I use a 17 inch Alienware and it needs a good notebook cooler and the extra USB ports are great gravy as I use them to run all the tons of gadgets, gizmos, and gear that I use for gaming.
I'm a big fan of this note book cooler and I'm glad I purchased it.
Customer Review: great cooler Summary: 5 Stars
This cooler is great. I have a 18.4. inch 1080P/I7 hp. It runs cool most of the time but if on for long periods of time it tended to heat up. Not anymore!!! This cooler has an adjustable control on the right side of it for fan control speed, or should I say fans control. It is black aluminum and inclines at about a 30 degree angle. It is not something you want sitting on you lap. It also doubles as a USB 4 port hub. No software comes with it. I plugged it in using windows7 PRO and 20 seconds later I was all set. This is USB powered and it also has a 120 volt wall adapter if dont wany to suck battery power. It will suck your battery down quick with the three 3.5 inch fans. The only drawback I saw with this unit was the USB cords could have been a couple inches longer.
