Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of NZXT CRYO LX Aluminum Notebook Cooler 15-Inch to 19-Inch with 120MM Adjustable Fans - Black (CRYO LX BLACK)Customer Review: Does What It's Meant to Do Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this cooler for my aging Sony Vaio laptop which seemed to be getting hotter at various times than had been the case in the past. The laptop fits perfectly on the cooler, and never slides off. The cooler does an excellent job of keeping the bottom of my laptop cool, and in that sense it's worked great (I don't think you could buy a cooler that did a better job of keeping a laptop cool). The one problem I did have with the cooler was that after about 6 months of use, the AC/DC outlet (on the back of the cooler, which is used to connect to the laptop via USB) suddenly broke. The tiny outlet loosened and I could no longer connect the cooler with my laptop. I contacted the company, NZXT, and they decided to send me a new cooler altogether. They paid the shipping costs to send me the new one, but I had to pay the shipping costs to send the old one to them. I've had the one they sent me for about a year and a half and have had no issues with it so far.

Will overload any of the 4 USB ports on a brand new Toshiba Qosmio X505 Q898 also purchased from Amazon, so if you plan on powering this laptop cooling device with USB port power look somewhere else. I am keeping it because it comes with a 110v power supply and it works real good when powered with household voltage. Using USB ports to power this cooling unit with 3 fans was not on my plans.
Now this goes to Amazon, either the laptop USB current limiter is messedup or the laptop cooling device is drawing more current than what the laptop can handle....may I suggest that the Amazon QA department give it a test and stop selling the product that is failing?
If this unit ran from the USB power I would give it 4 stars for portability and 5 stars for the rest.

Customer Review: Excellent laptop cooler Summary: 5 Stars
I looked at a dozen or more laptop/notebook coolers before settling on the NZXT. Admittedly, it is more expensive than most other coolers. However, it truly does the job.
Pros:
The three fans are whisper quiet
My Dell D800 is actually cool to the touch rather than hot, as it had been
The unit is powered by a USB port
It has 5 USB ports - one connects to a laptop port leaving 4 available
The top of the cooler is large enough to handle big screen laptops
The angle of the cooler puts the laptop at a much more comfortable level
The design and black color look great
The unit is very sturdy
It folds for transportation but I leave mine on my desk
Cons:
The price
The power and USB connections use a total of two ports (so net gain is 2)
I highly recommend the NZXT if you are serious about keeping your laptop cool.
Customer Review: You definitely get what you pay for Summary: 5 Stars
After going through several less expensive laptop coolers that didn't work well enough for my HP 17" desktop replacement, I decided to splurge on this model.
The difference in quality is immediately clear - the cooler features a heavy and solid metal design. The fans on the bag are huge and line up along the back end of the laptop. The rubber integrated does a great job of holding the laptop in place and the item itself firmly in place on your desk.
The fans are extremely quiet and I haven't had to go beyond the lowest setting yet (for previous coolers anything but the highest level was useless).
It is important to note that this is for larger desktop replacement-style laptops and its weight and size make hard to move and carry around (though it does fold up to about half it's size if you did want to move it). If this sounds like what you're looking for than it's perfect!
Customer Review: NZXT ACC-NT-CRYO LX Summary: 5 Stars
A great item to have for laptops of 15.4" or more. It has 3 120mm fans, powered by either 2 usb from your laptop or from an external source. Currently using it for my Asus G71GX-RX05 (BestBuy model) and it works like a charm. Average of 12C drop during idle or gaming, it provides the cooling power any laptop would need. It is true that it is a bit noisy, but then again, would you use the cooler when your trying to do quite work? I tend to use it only when I am gaming, which means I have loud music/sounds playing in the speakers that will cover the fan noise. Please note the following. This laptop cooler WILL raise the laptop an aproximate 1.5 inches where your hands will rest and also the anti-slip mechanism on the laptop cooler isn't as effective as one might hope. By this I mean that the area where your laptop is supposed to rest isn't large enough and thus your laptop might move a bit.
