Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple Nike+ Sport Armband with Window for Nano, Black/Gray (TM740LL/A)

Customer Review: Good choice for ipod nano armband
Summary: 4 Stars

I have owned 3 different armbands for my ipod nano, and this has been the best. I use it both with and without my Nike+ adapter on it. Maybe it is just due to stretching out, but I find that the buttons line up better with the armband and my ipod with the adapter versus without it, as then it tends to be too low in the pouch.

I feel I have rather normal sized arms for a girl (DEFINITELY don't have "stick" arms) yet I do have trouble getting the armband to feel tight enough for my runs, and it tends to slide and I have to readjust it as I am running. If my arms were any smaller I don't know if I could effectively use this product.

Only other thing is that the product does tend to stink from repeated sweating and use, but the nice thing is it is easily machine washable.

Overall good product.

Customer Review: Finally!! A product you can actually use
Summary: 5 Stars

I was stupid enough to buy the other version of the armband, the one without the window. I ended up manually cutting a hole in the thing so I could see the window, at which point the entire armband started falling apart.

This time, Nike got it right. The product fits well, is well made and perhaps most importantly, it has a window so you can see the nano's screen while you are running, or stopping for a quick sip of water. The nano with adapter fit well in the sleeve, and the buttons line up properly. It was easy to use the ipod while on the move, and I felt confident I wasn't going to accidentally stop my run or change my playlist to my kids Wiggles tunes.

I recommend throwing the prior version you bought in the trash. This will make you happy and is well worth the $30. Enjoy!

Customer Review: Limited Functionality
Summary: 3 Stars

I received this armband the other day after ordering for a really low price of $9.99 which I was happy about. Alas, I felt even luckier when I actually went to use it, but not for the right reasons. The viewing window cuts off about 20-30% of my 4GB Nano's screen, even without the Nike+ receiver on the bottom. Also, the functionality of the wheel( being able to rotate it to use the menu interfaces and volume specifically), was almost non-existent save for being able press the middle and play/pause buttons. It serves it's purpose in that it securely holds the Nano to arm and with some comfort. Beyond this, unless it's just me, it's not worth full retail price. Thank god I only payed $10!

Customer Review: Just what i was hoping for...
Summary: 5 Stars

I got the Nike+ when it originally came out and for a long time did not like the fact that the first armband did not have a window to see the Ipod. I can see where some people may prefer not to worry about how many calories they have burned or how far they have run until they are finished, but I thought it made it more difficult to get started on a run.

I also find it helpful to periodically check to make sure that it's actually running...I had a good run wasted because I apparently forgot to hit the start button. The music was playing, but the Nike+ part was not started, so a window in this armband, was a must have.

Customer Review: Not Durable
Summary: 2 Stars

This works ok at first. I have Sennheiser MX75 headphones, and it was always a challenge to get the headphones plug to fit through the opening on the armband. I thought this was a minor annoyance. However after only a couple of months using the armband, my iPod would start cutting out randomly and even shut down. I switched back to my old, beat up Marware convertible case, and the problems all went away. I think there was some wicked combination of the poor connection and the armband's tendency to absorb and transfer sweat. I had switched to it to make use of the Nike+ sensor, but it's just not worth it.
