As the title implies, the headphones worked fine at first. The quality is not bad, they were relatively comfortable, and the volume could get pretty loud. Some quick things about the headphones:
* They had no brand. Not Apple, Sony, jWin, etc.
* They DID come with the replacement earbuds.
* There is no on-wire volume control (which I knew before buying)
* I'm a tall guy, and they were long enough to reach my pocket from my ear (they are about 42" long)
* There is no left or right marker. Because they are comfortable, this didn't matter too much, but still...
Now, my problem. They broke on me about a week after first use, and I didn't use them that often, nor was I rough with them. They still emit sound, but now for all songs you can either hear the vocalist perfectly and the instruments are muffled or muted, or vice versa... and to "fix" it, I have to pull out the headphone plug slightly so it is sort of touching it, but it could never stay in the jack for this to be effective. It's not my iPod, cause I replaced the headphones and the new ones work perfectly.
In the end, they are exactly what I expected from $4 headphones (which makes me sad, cause for some reason I expected more). They still work, kinda sorta, so maybe this is a rare situation. Who knows. Everything else with the phones were not bad. I would recommend a sturdier pair, but if you only have $4 to spend then buy cautiously...
