Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of UltraShip 55 lb. Digital Postal Shipping & Kitchen ScaleCustomer Review: Accurate and consistent, and quite clever Summary: 5 Stars
I am very pleased with this product.
Number one is that it seems to be accurate and consistent.
Number two is you can get your readout in pounds, fractions of pounds, ounces, kilograms or grams with a single weigh.
Number 3 is it takes "tare" into consideration. So you can put your container on the scale, turn the scale on and it measures "zero" so you can add weight to the container without having to subtract out the weight.
I use this product to send out products via internet and need to know the weight of packages, so I appreciate the simplicity and accuracy of this product.
I highly recommend it. The appearance and price are very acceptable.
Customer Review: Overall, not a bad deal Summary: 3 Stars
Slightly annoying that it didn't come with an adapter (maybe I should have paid more attention to the description), but the scale worked well and was very accurate for the 5 months that it worked. Mysteriously, it just stopped working. It wasn't dropped, no power surge, nothing unusual at all. Per manufacturer's warranty instructions, sent it back. In just a few weeks, we received a new one. The downside of that is that it had to be shipped to Arizona, so even shipping Parcel Post, it cost us over $11. So, at this point, we are up to about $38 total cost for this scale. If it breaks again, we probably won't bother spending the money to ship it back again. We'll just buy a different brand.
Customer Review: Perfect for ebay! Summary: 5 Stars
Though I have been a buyer for many years, I just started selling on eBay. I was determined to pull it off by estimating weight & shipping without a scale, which proved to be a stubborn idea. I quickly realized how much time and money a scale would save me. In short, this particular product offered more features and costs less than anything I could find at local office supply stores... and it works great! 100% Satisfied.
Note: this product is battery operated. I opted to purchase the "ULTRASHIP POWER SUPPLY for all MYWEIGH ULTRASHIP SERIES DIGITAL POSTAL SCALES" product as well. It is crazy not to get this as well as it is about the same cost as a pack of batteries.
Customer Review: Not accurate or consistent Summary: 1 Stars
The weight reading drifts on this scale, WELL beyond the supposed 2g accuracy.
Example: I put it on my living room table, away from cell phones, microwaves, TVs, and any other electronic device, and turned it on. It zeroed, but within a couple of seconds started fluctuating up and down between -4g and 6g. I left it there for 20 minutes, at which point it read 18g.
The manual doesn't say anything about fixing this problem. I haven't tried getting it fixed or replaced because it probably isn't worth the time and shipping expense.
I got the model with the AC adapter. Maybe this wouldn't happen with batteries for some reason.
Customer Review: Great for parents Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this scale because it was much cheaper than infant scales, and I was having problems with my baby's weight when she was a newborn. It is great! It helped me keep track of her weight and to figure out what worked and what didn't. For example, I tried cutting out her midnight feeding and her weight started to drop, so I started feeding her at midnight again. I later on was able to cut out her midnight feeding and saw that she continued to gain weight, so I felt good about my decision. I highly recommend this for any parent who is concerned about their child's weight. I use it with a rubbermaid container on top, my friend uses a board.
