DO NOT BUY unless you want to ship the unit back at your own expense to the vendor for replacement when yours doesn't work. Our unit was dead on arrival. The displayed values varied widely, would not maintain a stable value, and the backlight display flickered randomly. The vendor refuses to refund shipping charges even though their product was dead on arrival. Their quality control is what you might expect of a fly-by-night operation from an unnamed far eastern country. Our replacement unit shipped was a different color and the backlight still flickers randomly. At least the weight indications seem to be stable for now. We can't justify the cost to ship this one back yet again for who-knows-what in return so we'll live with it. The replacement unit took several weeks to arrive after they received the dead unit.Customer Review: Best value for a mulit purpose scale

The weight range and simplicity of this scale make it a winner. Highly sensitive at low weights, it works for letters, small items, even kitchen use. The removable control panel and 55 lb capacity makes shipping easy and accurate. Works best with batteries and that makes it completely portable. Easily moves to the floor for large boxes and back to counter top for smaller items. Tare function valuable for cumulative addition of items and kitchen use. Manufacturer service is courteous and fast. I had to get a new AC power adapter. Both original and replacement AC adapters had issues with inconsistent weight readings on the scale. But batteries last a long, long time so I can't see the point to using AC power unless you need this running constantly all day. I am cursed when it comes to postage scales! I had bought one before this that would not register any of my light weight stuff, returned that one and then finally thought I'd try another one. I carefully read all the reviews for this item and although there were a few that said it did not work most raved that it was perfect for there home business shipping needs. I have a growing home business and NEED a scale to better be able to determine accurate shipping. I was excited when I got it but upon putting the batteries in I found it to do NOTHING!! It wouldn't even turn on...NOTHING! The good news is I was able to return it and I am going to brave it one more time and order a different scale, different brand and try it one more time... if the next one doesn't work I am going to resort to a mechanical scale.Customer Review: affordable, super fast shipping too!

i ordered this scale to replace my tiny royal scale 3lb capacity. i used my old scale to sell some of my stuffs that i dont use on ebay. afte ra year of using it to weigh just small items, i recently received a meesage from a member that she had been charged an additional $$$ due to lack of postage, this is the first time it happened to me. i tried to weigh a few stuffs sold and i directly went to the post office to weigh it, and OMG 3 of the were 3 ounces less and the 2 of them are 3-4 ounces over. i think this is a good step for me that i ordered a new one so i wont overpay / underpay for the usps service. the only con i can say is that they should include the power adaptor in the box so you can use it immediately than buying it separately. OVERALL, thanks for the affordable scale and fast shipping!Customer Review: Misleading Ad

The product is fine, the ad is misleading. This scale is available from many vendors, many offering it at a lower price. I purchased here because the Ad title said Ultraship 55 lb Electronic Digital Shipping Postal Kitchen Scale WITH AC ADAPTER. When it arrived there was no AC Adapter and in reading the advertizing more carefully I see that it was never intended to be shipped with the scale. When I called the company to talk with them I could only listen to a recording repeating their business hours -- I was calling during their stated business hours -- and suggesting that I send an email. I found the ad misleading and the experience distressing. The same scale is available elsewhere for half the price and the customer service could hardly be worse. I recommend buying elsewhere.
