Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of UltraShip 55 lb. Digital Postal Shipping & Kitchen ScaleCustomer Review: Great economical scale for home business Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this scale for us in my home-based book selling business. I was a little hesitant to buy it, thinking that such an inexpensive scale could not possible be durable or accurate. However, I too a chance and my chance paid off. The only problem with the scale is that it does not always stay on zero when it is not loaded. It fluctuates sometimes as much as 0.4 oz. However, I figure the fluctuation has something to do with sensitivity due to its wide range. That same range (0.1 ounces to 55 pounts) makes this scale useful for weighing both mail and parcels. When the fluctuation is within 0.2 ounces, I have just put the item on the scale. When the fluctuation exceeded 0.2 ounces, I hit the tare/zero button. The final weight has always been accurate within 0.1 ounces (compared to the post office scale), which is well within acceptable variance for use as a postage scale. The detachable face (not easy to get off, but very useful), weight unit options, and weight hold options have all been very useful. Overall, this scale is a good quality scale, economically priced, and a perfect fit for home business postage needs.
Customer Review: Read the return and warranty policy from Sellers Summary: 3 Stars
1st one I received was a lemon and I contacted the seller. He told me that I needed to return it at *my* cost to their warranty center. I complained that I shouldn't have to pay since the website said RMAs would cover shipping. I was told that if I wanted that service that I should have bought from the company and not the seller. Not too happy since they wouldn't fix it or accept the return without me paying shipping. At this point I will have paid the about same amount from the website (including my return ship) as I did from the seller. I was told to return everything in the original box with the RMA paper inside. I returned everything including the power supply. When my replacement unit arrived it worked fine but did not have the power supply. I contact the seller who says I have to contact the warranty center since he is out of the power supplies. I contact the warranty center who tells me they are out of the supplies. Still no power supply, that was almost 3 weeks ago. I would recommend the unit but not the seller (Quick Supply).
Customer Review: Excellent Product at an Excellent Price Summary: 5 Stars
For several years I have used the PELOUZE model PE5 scale not by choice as it was the only one I could find at the price I could afford.
My PELOUZE only goes up to 5 lbs.; and if the box you wanted to weigh was to large, you would have to try to peek in between the box and the scale. The hold fuction on the PELOUZE never worked properly. The PELOUSE would ONLY last about 2 years at best.
I just purchased the ULTRA SHIP and am impressed with the features. which is like comparing night with day.
A removable display that detaches from the body and lights up (I had to use some Petroleum jelly on the back of the scale to remove it more easily). You can weigh up to 55 lbs, has a TARE, HOLD and auto off feature. Uses 6 C batteries or an adapter (make sure the seller has this feature).
I am unable to find any fault the this ULTRASHIP scale which is a different story with the PELOUSE.
Bottom line, you can't go wrong with the ULTRASHIP.
Customer Review: Don't Bother With This Thing. Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this scale new and got it in the mail yesterday. Opened the box and installed the scale per the instructions and even let the machine warm up before using it. Then I proceeded to weigh things. I must have gotten a dud, because it is inaccurate. I was grabbing things from the kitchen and even put some 5,10,20 lb dumb bells on it. All weights were wrong. I even tried the tare thing where it subtracts the weight of the container and just measures the liquid. Wrong again. Then I proceeded to zero the thing out with a 5 kg weight used to test accuracy of scales for businesses and the post office. So, I grabbed some more stuff that I knew the exact weight of and the scale disappointed me again.
This piece of crap is going back in the box for a refund. Luckily, Amazon is great about paying for return shipping if you have a defective item. I'm going to try my luck with a Digiweigh scale because they have good reviews and they include the AC adapter and batteries with their product.
Customer Review: They keep sending the SILVER scale Summary: 1 Stars
I picked this scale out for Christmas and need it in BLACK for my office. Well, the first one that was shipped was Silver...marked right on the box. I returned it and ordered another one....SILVER again even after I wrote the complaint as a reason for the refund. It says BlACK in the description....I wanted BLACK, not silver.
Also, they don't tell you in the description that you need an adapter for AC use. Amazon sells them but it would be nice to know that before you buy it. The adapter does not come with the scale...it must be purchased separately. You can use DC batteries for the scale if you don't want to use the AC adapter.
Another thing...I know this is an inexpensive scale, but it would be nice if the lettering on the front of the scale was actually reasonably lined up and straight...it looks like a kid from elementary school put the lettering on. Believe it or not, it actually takes the same amount of money to print the lettering straight then it does crooked.
