Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Mustang MT-ARM2 Cantilever/Arm Mount 24-36"

Customer Review: Great product
Summary: 5 Stars

After going over several reviews on this product, and checking similar items in the market I purchased this mount a month back. It is a very good sleek and stirdy design; well fitted for my new 32" Samsung LCD TV. Installation was pretty easy and it took about 30 minutes to complete the job. I am not a hardware person and never experienced installing anything like this! My 14 yr old son assisted me in installation and 2 persons are essentially required. Also, thanks for those written reviews on this product, sharing their experience of mounting this item. On reading one of the review only I came to know that there is an item called "stud finder" is in market and is needed for finding the stud in the wall!! Also, I purchased a drilling machine to fix the screws on the wall. Initially I was little bit concerned how just 2 screws going to hold the whole weight; but after installing I had a full confidence that this is a pretty strong mounting to serve the purpose. Another good thing with this item is, the manufacturer of this item provided a wide range of bolts to fix the TV (considering different TVs would need different size of bolt/screw).
I am fully satisfied with this mount.

Customer Review: Solid, smooth, good looking, & versatile
Summary: 5 Stars

This mount meets my hopes and expectations in every way. I used it to mount a Samsung 32" LCD HDTV just next to an open doorway between the living room and my small dining room. I think the TV weighs about 35 lb. With this mount I can swing the TV so that it is viewable in either room. It moves easily, smoothly and quietly. Owing to its heavy duty construction, it doesn't flex.
I'm handy with tools, so did not have a problem installing it. However, if you are a novice, you probably should get a more skilled helper. Just be sure that you are mounting to something solid. I used a stud finder and carefully marked the holes to drill. One major caution: DRILL THE MOUNTING HOLES NO LARGER THAN 1/4". The directions call for something larger... too large for the enclosed lag screws to get a really secure bite in the wood. When it comes time to mount the TV to the arm, you will need a helper: one to hold up the TV, and the other to screw in the four machine screws to the back of the TV. Although the arm comes with a big assortment of screws, they are individually packed by size, so all you have to do is find ones that fit your TV, and add the rest to your screw collection.

Customer Review: Very sturdy, good looking, but pricey and HARD to install
Summary: 4 Stars

I read one review that it was easy to install, not so. Unless you do a lot of drilling in walls, and are familiar with the millions of pieces included, you'll be utterly confused. The couple pages of instructions were grossly inadequate. It comes provided with just about every screw / bolt you could ever possibly need (labeled in pouches A through O), but the instructions refer to pouches that aren't even there (e.g., package N), it's not too hard to figure out the correct package, but you'll still be somewhat confused and wondering.

Some of the equipment needed to install not included: electronic drill bit (you might be able to avoid this with a hammer), an electronic stud finder (what apartment renter has one of these), and a wrench.

All in all though, once you get past the installation, the unit looks great, and feels like it's worth the price (super sturdy), though admittedly I haven't seen other mounts.

Customer Review: very hard to install
Summary: 1 Stars

This is seriously difficult to install. It took me a good 2 hours to make sure everything was lined up properly, pick out the correct hardware (still not sure if I even did that right, but it seems steady so what the hell), and mount the tv. Now that it's finally mounted, it moves well, but I don't even like to move it since I'm not sure how securely it's mounted - unsure about the hardware remember? Well there were only 2 types of screws that fit - one was way too long, and the only other ones were long enough to go in - but only just. They're in maybe a few millimeters - that's it. So i don't move the tv around much.

I honestly don't know how they think average people are supposed to be able to install this thing. If you got it for free like I did, then it's maybe okay, but i wouldn't pay money for it at all.

Customer Review: Strong unit for mounting
Summary: 3 Stars

Very sturdy and functional unit. Swings effortlessly and easy to install. Mount this into a stud using a stud finder, a socket wrench and a level (making sure the pilot holes are straight), and you save a lot on installation. Mounting the TV on this unit is best with two people and know the layout of the screws and insertion points before you dangle the TV in the air for mounting. One final step before mounting is to plug all of your cables into the back of your TV set. This unit covered most of the input jacks on my set and taking it back off the mount to make adjustments is just too bothersome and risky. This may not be a problem if your set has jacks out of the range of where this mount need to be screwed in.
