Customer Review: Nice quality, heavy duty, stupid design

I have to admit that I like this mount, now that it is installed. The swivel mechanism is smooth and the arm seems very heavy duty.
Installing it in a stud wall was a breeze. Locate the stud, predrill a couple holes and bolt it in with the included lag bolts and washers. Unfortunately, the battle hasn't yet begun at this point...
Since this is essentially a 1-piece unit, the TV must be held up against the unit by one person, while the other attempts to insert the small screws through the back of the bracket and into the TV. This is not an easy task and is very dependent on the weight of your TV.
Depending on your TV's VESA layout, things may get even more dicey. My TV is VESA 100mmX200mm which requires the use of spacers between the mount and the TV (spacers included). That means that while the "assistant" is holding the TV perfectly still, the screw person needs to fish spacers in between the bracket and the TV, line them up with the holes and insert the screw in from the back of the bracket...six times in my case.
Needless to say, my installation was not a pleasant experience. I think the part that attaches to the TV should be removable from the mount which would greatly simplify the task.
