Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Motorola MOTOROKR S9 Bluetooth Stereo HeadphonesCustomer Review: I like them, minor problems but the jury isn't out yet. Summary: 3 Stars
This is my first Bluetooth headphones and so far so good. I've had minor issues with them, which includes connectivity problems, non-responsive buttons, and battery life problems.
I've only experienced connectivity problems on two occasions, once at home and at the gym. I don't know what was the issue but my headset would connect to my Bluetooth device and intermittently drop the signal. On a couple of occasions the buttons on the headset wouldn't respond to commands. And the battery life has been more like 3 to 4 hours, not 8 to 9. Besides the occasional minor problems, they're great. I like that they include a microphone, which works great with my smartphone.
On long jogs the rubber cover over the port slips off, which I've corrected by placing a rubber band over it. So I'm a little concerned with sweat ruining them but so far they've lasted on long jogs (i.e. 5-10 miles). The headphones are still relatively new so the juries not out on them yet. I like them but I'm constantly worried they're going to break down. The headphones were a venture for me. I've expected the worse but so far they've performed pretty well.
Customer Review: love it/ hate it....the only review you need to read Summary: 3 Stars
i had this for only four days, then the buttons stopped working. its because i sweat a lot when i do cardio. i wiped them while in use as to not let it get soaked in sweat, but it didnt help. sometimes the buttons do things on its own... many other users on the net have this same problem
i really like the convenience and the sound tho... amazing bass and great bluetooth sound as well...
if you plan on working out in these...find something else... but if you just want this for anything else, then its the best headphones you can get
for you audiophiles out there... the is minor distortion on music with loud cymbals, but for a musician like myself its very minor and still sounds great...
this has rubber buds so is isolates the sound.... another plus!!!
if this could be improved, i would want the same thing but no buttons to break or the buttons are completely sealed in rubber...
in conclusion, it loved it while it worked, but its broke super fast because i worked out in it.
Customer Review: Nice but not good background noise cancellation Summary: 3 Stars
I bought a pair elsewhere and am returning them. What I like is they are light, fit well, have long battery life and were easy to pair with my T-Mobile G1. What I didn't like was that the S9's have very little background noise cancellation. One person said the microphone is built into the left speaker so it picks up only what is coming out of your ear canal, but it doesn't sound that way. Your callers hear everything in the background. Talking while driving my car was very frustrating for my wife and I had to turn it off and hold my phone to my ear. I had the windows closed, no A/C running and yet the road noise and other cars around me were clearly heard through the microphone. Also being outside with any amount of wind makes it nearly impossible for her to hear me. I like to cycle and these won't work for me. Quality of construction seems very good and they are very stylish. I get a lot of crackling in the headphones when my cell phone is in my front pocket. I'd recommend for listening to music from your computer while working.
Customer Review: Stopped working after one week Summary: 1 Stars
The headphones were delivered quickly. After charging they connected great by bluetooth to my iPod Touch (2nd gen) running the version 3.0 software. They did not however connect with either my iPod Classic (with Sony bluetooth adaptor- TMR-BT8IP) or my MacBook. I also could not get them to connect with my Motorola RAZR phone although my older Sony headphones (DR-BT22) had no problem establishing a bluetooth connection with my phone, iPod Classic or my MacBook. I thought the sound was very good (until they stopped working) although there was no pause feature like there was on my DR-BT22 headphones. Since most of the photos of this item at Amazon show headphones with a red band while these are all a dull black, I'm wondering whether or not these are "knockoffs" and not really Motorola since they failed so quickly. They also don't fit that well on the head (pinch a bit) and shift around if you move your head up or down a lot (say while running) due to the large piece in the back.
Customer Review: Great Buy, alround bluetooth stereo Summary: 5 Stars
Was looking for a relatively cheap Bluetooth Stereo, got mine at discount price.
After more than 10 months of use the unit is still in good shape.
Pros:
- Compatibility Works for my iPhone, iTouch, & Nokia N95.
- Durable design.
- Can be charged via USB if you have the connector.
- Relatively Cheap but great quality.
- Easy to pare.
Cons:
- After 4 month the mushroom ear buds fell apart, had to use the medium size extra ear buds, but would have proffered the mushroom type.
- Battery life is decent but not great, about 4-6 of contenious use.
- Depending on your head size, comfort fit is case to case basis, but manageable.
- It might receives some interference that may distort the sound, but not that often, but can be annoying.
- Next Song button does not work with iPhone & iTouch, works great with N95.
