Customer Review: Great for the gym
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this headset because I was getting tangled up in my headphones constantly in the gym during my circuit training routine. I wanted something wireless to use with my LG Chocolate Touch phone, which I use in place of a stand-alone mp3 player. I was reluctant to purchase these because of the mixed reviews, but figured I'd give it a try. Here are my thoughts:
(a) Comfort: It's not super comfortable, but not uncomfortable either. The on/off box kind of hangs above the back of your neck (not touching your neck though), which is a bit awkward. You can't really feel it once you get going, but it just seems like it should be laying flat to your head. Refer to the image above in the product description to see how they fit. I used to use Sony over-the-ear headphones which were great and after they were in I barely even felt them. If you want a bluetooth headset that is compatible with music and not just voice, I think this is just one of the sacrifices that need to be made.
(b) Sound quality: I feel that the sound quality isn't perfect with these (again, I'm comparing to my former wired headphones), but it's fine for the gym and just another small sacrifice to make for the convenience of having a wireless headset. If you want or need crystal clear sound, then these aren't for you.
(c) Ease of use: I had these paired with my phone in under a minute. After reading a few pages in the user manual (how to adjust volume, change tracks, accept a call, ignore a call - all using headset only), I was good to go. These are very easy to use. I will say, however, that the buttons to adjust the volume and track number are situated a bit strangely. You have to twist your hand / wrist at an awkward angle to work it. This isn't an issue... the alternative of reshaping the headphones (and possibly making them less comfortable) would have been far worse. Just wanted to mention this.
(d) Connectivity: These reach very far and will be perfect for what I intend to use them for. I was listening to music the other night and my phone was in a room on one end of the house and I walked to the other end of the house into another room - no drop in quality at all. These seem to have very strong connectivity.

Overall, these are pretty much what I expected and I look forward to using them in the gym. I will be sure to update my review if I begin to have any issues.

Customer Review: Good with Exceptions
Summary: 3 Stars

After trying several brands and types of BlueTooth headsets, I finally purchased the Motorola model S9. I really love the form factor of these. They are light weight and most of all not as bulky as many other behind the ear headphones. You may already know that phone calls only come in through the left ear piece. They seem well build, though I am uneasy about stretching them for small amount needed to fit them on my head. I have heard of these things breaking while people are putting them on. There is no way to store these headphones in a tight space like packed luggage. They do not store flat. I use the molded packaging when I transport them in my laptop case to and from work. After about 2 hours, they start to be a little uncomfortable to wear and I find myself adjusting them a lot. It's not the ear buds, it's the part of the frame that presses against the outside of my ear that hurts after awhile. The volume and pause controls are easy to use. Answering the phone took some getting use to. I kept pressing the wrong button, so instead of answering the call, I was ending the call. However, that is not the fault of the product, that was me doing the wrong thing. I was not as happy with the music quality as I hoped I would be with this product. They look better than they sound. There is a model above this one that is supposed to sound much better. I wish I had purchased that model. But I did not want to spend the extra money. To date, these are most expensive Bluetooth headset have purchased.

I am 50/50 as to the wisdom of this purchase. I would give this product 50 out of 100. However, I use these more than the other stereo Bluetooth head sets I own.

Pros:
Great visually.
Work great with iPhone.
Good battery life.
Easy to recharge with any mini USB cable.
Good controls.
Very light weight.
Things like podcasts and phone calls sound great.

Con:
Uncomfortable after long period of use (Maybe that's because I have a wide head).
Cannot fold up for flat storage.
Uneasy about putting them on after hearing of some units breaking.
Music sound quality is not as good as expected.

Customer Review: great stereo headset

<update>
After extended use at the gym, I found that the soft buttons stopped working the speakers started going, but after contacting motorola within a year of purchase (use their web form because their phone support is terrible) they sent me a replacement, but instead of replacing it with an S9, they sent an S9-HD. The S9-HD has all physical buttons instead of those soft buttons on the S9 and it has much better ear buds over the speakers that are more comfortable and are designed to catch perspiration before it gets to the electronics. My boss also had his replaced for the same reason and they sent him an S9-HD as well. I think motorola knows this problem exists with the S9 and that's why they send the S9-HD out instead.

Great for using at the gym or at work. Can pair with my computer at work and my Blackberry simultaneously for the A2DP on my computer to listen to music and then it will switch over when a call comes in and pause my music. Can pair both profiles to my blackberry as well for when I go to the gym or running.
Only thing I wish is that when talking on the phone, audio is only in the left ear. Also wish it came in different colors so I could tell it apart from my friends'. (He loves his as well BTW, bought it a while ago when it was like $80) Since our boss and another coworker has bought them as well.

I always used to lose those little things that slip over the ear. This is also much more durable than the little headsets that flip out, also less likely to get lost.

Definately worth the $45... Best bluetooth headset I've had.

I also am a pretty big guy (6'2"), whith a fairly large head and it fits pretty comfortably, but if I were any bigger it would be a tight fit.

I also like that it charges over mini-usb. My phone and my Wife's phone charge off miniUSB, as does our GPS so it's very convenient in case one of us forgets a charger on a trip.

Customer Review: Easy to Pair with LG VX8350
Summary: 4 Stars

I have had these headphones for about a month now and have been more satified with them as a wireless headset device for my phone (also new one month) than my previous one ear piece 'standard' Bluetooth. I use them routinely (daily) during transit to and from worksite and agencies.

Moreso, as a stereo headphone for my LG they really are quite good--sound quality is really nice. The LG VX8350 is a nice ipod-like phone so they do me well when I am commuting and needing to take calls! They paired with my LG VX8350 within seconds and have never failed to automatically pair since (just power up the headphones and the cell phone states 'connected'). The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the initial earpain I had to endure!!! I've now figured out how to wear them with minimal discomfort, LOL, but for a few sessions there they were extremely uncomfortable after about 20 minutes of wearing them. Much better now, although I can't really say what's changed--perhaps they loosened up a bit? They certainly are NOT anywhere near to being as comfortable and lightweight and flexible as my NIKE behind-the-head headset (wired) that I have been using for years with my ipod. I have ordered the ipod adapter and will trial these new wireless headphones with the ipod as well and see if I can tolerate the headphones during a workout.

Just an additional note: I do not experience any problems re: reception and loss of connection with placement of the source device, like one other reviewer noted. I actually have left my phone (LG VX8350) in the car after I pulled into my driveway and brought in the garbage cans from the street (about 20 feet away) and the reception remained completely solid! So, overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase and have recommended it to friends.

Customer Review: If you don't like earbuds, you won't like these headphones..
Summary: 3 Stars

I'm using these headphones with a Motorola D650 bluetooth adaptor and a 4th gen iPod Nano (warning: you need the D670 for a 5th gen Nano!) and I'm not as thrilled as I thought I would be with this setup. I get constant dropouts if there's not a clear line of sight between the units, so I'm forced to wear an armband high on my bicep of have it sitting in front of me when I'm on an exercise machine. As far as comfort: if you can't stand earbuds, you probably won't like these headphones, because they're essentially earbuds with a hard frame. Only a short time of wearing these make the insides of my ears sore. I'm having a hard time keeping the control buttons straight; maybe if I used them more I could be better with them, but it seems that I always have to relearn the functions every time I put them on. Getting all the pieces to work at one time can sometimes be time consuming (you have to turn them on in sequence and wait for them to recognise each other), and hopefully you have the iPod and headphones charged up fully, otherwise you won't be listening for long. Couldn't get my phone/iPod/headphones to play well with each other; couldn't answer the phone because the iPod signal wouldn't shut off when a call came in, so I ended up having to disconnect and shut everything off just to answer my phone! Maybe I'll just go back to wired headphones and replace them periodically (when I rip the cord out of them). At least I'll get more battery time out of my iPod (and be able to hear the whole song) and won't have to waste time doing the bluetooth connection dance.
