Customer Review: Once you figure them out, they're great.

Everyone raves about how easy these are to install. Well, that's mostly true. However, nowhere do the very brief instructions tell you the obvious: unscrew the top of each plug from the bottom. Then, the directions make more sense. Just thread the stripped speaker wire up through the bottom half of the plugs, fan out/spray the wires around, then screw the top back on (so the individual speaker wires will get caught under the top part of the plug and the twist-on seals the current connection). That's how easy it is -- once you figure out you need to unscrew the top. I know, it may seem incredibly obvious, but it wasn't. Also, if you leave too much bare wire exposed, it becomes very hard to tighten the top back on, so strip a little bit less then what the directions recommend. I actually found a good video on [...] that very quickly goes over how to prep these plugs, so if you're confused, just look for that video.
Other than that, I'm not sure I notice a significant sound increase, but it certainly didn't get any worse. And as others have pointed out, these should prevent shorts. (Plus, they're a whole lot easier to just plug right in to the middle of the speaker input knobs in than if you're trying to reach behind your receiver to screw in those little knobs around and around and around the piece of exposed wire you've stuck in....)
