Im not much into the technical jargen as far as volts and if this happens or if that happens what may happen. that kind of stuff. but what i do know is that without it,i would not feel as relaxed as i do with every electronic component i have in my theater plugged into it. its made very well. has some weight to it. it gives you a voltage reading digitally that i have seen go as low as 120 and as high as 124. it usually stays around 124. im very happy with it. the Sat,blu ray,ps3,sony surround is all plugged into it. i would highly recommend buying it here on amazon. the price is and has been the best for a while now. dont hesitate. its a nice product to have. you never know!Customer Review: monster hts 1000

when you get this you can see and feel a difference from those dollar store circuit protectors it is heavy and seems well built . I have not had it tested as a surge protector and hope i never do .lol but i feel safer having all my home video electronics plugged into this ! look up some info about surge protectors anything over 3500 joules everbody says is great the higher the number the better and this is like 6775 joules so it should last a long while unless it sacrifices itself to save your other equipment ( which is what it is designed to do ) !!shop around for some really great prices on this !Customer Review: Monster HTS 1000 MKIII

I guess the one downside of any surge protector is that there's no way of knowing for sure just how good it is until it gets 'tested' (by which time, if you've made the wrong choice, it's far too late). I bought this on Monster's reputation & the incredible joule rating.
It seems quite solid & well made. I like the voltage readout feature too. As far as a rating goes, I could only give it 4 stars, at least until I have an opportunity to see it save my system, while the rest of the house fries! (I'll hopefully never get to find out; however the piece of mind was worth the price)

My main issue with this item is the fact that the sockets for plugging items in are not straight, not only does this make it very difficult to actually plug an item in it has rendered two of the sockets on mine unusable because it was so out of line nothing could actually go in. Other than that like many Monster items though it may look nice and powerful, that is purely cosmetic, it is very over priced for what it is. I have not had any issues with the operation of the device other than the unusable sockets but there are many significantly cheaper devices that would have been better.Customer Review: Total overpriced garbage

I have had two of these power conditioners which I spent a lot of money on. Both have died without warning. I called Monster as my booklet says it is warrantied "For the Life of the Product" Thinking it had a lifetime warranty I called them. They told me it only had a 5 year warranty which is the life of the product. Give me a break!
This product is overpriced hype for suckers that think they are getting good protection and filtered power. The only thing you are getting is less money in your checking account.
