Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Monster HTS 1000 MKIII 8-Outlet Power Center with Clean Power Stage 2Customer Review: Will the Monstor Help Me? Summary: 5 Stars
Will the Monster help us? We have sent back to tv's Samsung and the new Bravia Z because intermittently our tv blacked out for a few seconds - it went completely black. And at times I tried to turn tv on and only got on the picture the hdmi printing and few other lines but no picture. After playing around with comcast remote, finally picture would come on. This happened just a few times. But the total black picture happend about once every couple of days and seemed to happen most on msnbc. Do you think the monster would help us - could we be having a power surge and less power happening intermittently? Very cautious now in purchasing the third HD TV and have felt we purchased the best in the last two - feel something wrong at home rather than tv's. Thanks anyone out there.
Customer Review: Saved my Panasonic plasma from the blink of death Summary: 5 Stars
This power strip has been faithfully powering/protecting all the electronics in our entertainment room. In our upstairs family room we have a 50" Panasonic plasma tv that I bought a cheaper monster product to power/protect. The cheaper power strip seemed to do a good job for 16 months when suddenly the tv gave a loud crack noise and the power light began to blink. I read reviews and found others had the misfortune of this blink of death happening to their tv. I was ready to scrap the tv as the power supply was having problems per the blinking code, but on a whim decided to move the expensive monster upstairs and just give it a try powering the plasma. IT WORKED! I avoided costly repairs or possibly just tossing $1400 of plasma tv by simply plugging into this better power supply.
Customer Review: Features galore - for a power filter and surge protector Summary: 5 Stars
I have had this powercenter for about 5 days now and I very happy with it. It is large, has a very long wall cord, and plenty of plugins for power, coax, phone, and even network connections. The two sides of the power strip are separated for audio and video to minimize interference. The voltage meter (LCD display) is a confidence meter that your power supply coming into it is what it is supposed to be. Larger than what I wanted, but I also wanted the extra protection so it worked for me. Amazon's pricing was extremely competitive, as usual, and I got more features than other similarly priced protectors in my local stores. I am using it on my Samsung 46" LCD tv, Onkyo home theater system with DVD and subwoofer, and the Cable box DVR. Handles it all very well.
Customer Review: Not as advertised, Does not make channels clearer Summary: 2 Stars
The part about maker channels clearer and stopping the lines from the lower stations is false I think it made it worst since i had hooked it today since I recieved it. I unhooked the cable wires and just left the items plugged in and it seems to work better. So the part about making your viewing better is false. As a surge protector hopefully that is true and works and the guarantee about the equipment is true hopefully i never need to find out but I guess it could be a sense of security from surges. I think if I can return this product I will and get a cheaper one like Belkin or one that is warrantied for life. I think this is anexpensive piece of garbage, thank god i didnt buy it at Best Buy where its $80 more.
Customer Review: Solid Powerstrip Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very solid feeling powerstrip/surge protector.
I bought it hoping to clean the power coming from an outlet in my house. When I flip on a certain light switch, I can see lines go across my tv screen. I think this is due to the electrical sensitivity (not being technical here) of my A/V receiver. I think it is very sensitive to any power fluctuations on the circuit. the light switch must be tied to the same circuit that this power outlet is on.
Adding this did not resolve the issue. However, just because it did not solve this issue, does not mean that this is not a good piece of equipment. I feel confident that it is doing its job protecting my devices.
