Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Monster Cable PowerCenter HTS 2000 MKIICustomer Review: Power center failed Summary: 2 Stars
It looks like the power on button disconnected or separated from it's socket and it will no longer turn on. I thought at first it needed a reset but that wasn't the case. I don't think there was a major power surge because my other surge protector on my computer wasn't affected.
Admittedly I used the power on button daily to reduce power vampirism from the equipment when off but still, for this much money you'd think it wouldn't fail like this.
2 stars for working well for over a year before abject failure.
Customer Review: Discontinued Summary: 3 Stars
Unit failed to provided power at any of outlets after 1yr of usage and still under warranty. No reported anomalies in electrical power or storms had taken place (Tucson AZ). Monster replaced with similar unit model (downgraded) which offered less power ports, no current LED display, and price considerably less than desired model. Monster reported original model discontinued. Good business practice would have provided customer with price difference since customer spent the additional cost to get extra functions for initial unit.
Customer Review: Very large surge protector Summary: 4 Stars
I've always used monster cable surge protectors and have been happy with them. I've had this one for 3 months now. I have a 58" plasma and blue ray player plugged into it and I really have piece of mind that everything is protected. I really like the design, and the many outlets it has. But this is a very large surge protector. I could not fit in any shelf of my TV stand. I had to place it behind the TV stand. Make sure you have enough room before purchasing it. Other than the size, I would recommend it to anyone.
Customer Review: Doesn't disappoint Summary: 5 Stars
Yes it's big, it's Monster, it's probably overpriced but it is sturdy and reliable. I won't say it makes my sound and picture noticable better because I have relatively clean power in my area so it didn't make much of a difference. But I am confident in its surge protecting ability. I like the labels on the strip itself and the stick-on labels provided for your power cords. The digital current gauges are a nice touch. It's interesting to see how much power is consumed in standby mode. I would recommend this.
Customer Review: Do you need it all Summary: 4 Stars
Great surge suppressor, but with high definition, and older 55 ohm cables, I lost some sound connecting the cable throught the suppressor and then to the cable box. If you don't have digital cable to your cable box using the cable part of the unit might cause packets to delay causing words to be lost(as happened with me). If you are digital all the way from the pole then by all means this is a great product. If not s smaller one without the cable supression might be the way to go
