Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Light (Silver)Customer Review: I love this reading light for my Kindle! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this with my new Kindle and love it ... the silver color goes great with the gray inside cover of the Kindle, the clip is perfect, the movable neck is superb, and the light is outstanding. If you are getting a Kindle and like to read in bed, this light wants to be yours!
(I also got one for my husband and it works very well with paperbacks as well ... it's amazingly light-weight, the clip is secure, the neck bends easily & stays were you want it, and the light is NO GLARE somehow ... we actually like these new night lights better for reading than the headboard light :)
Customer Review: Best book light I've found for Kindle Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this light for use with my Kindle and have been extremely pleased. The two-way switch offering using of one or both bulbs give good light control for varying reading areas. The clip is rather thick and heavy, so this light does not work well on a paperback. The clip strength is firm, so I don't have a problem with it slipping when clipped on my Kindle. The light and cable fold down to the side for travel/storage; however, the bulk of the clip still makes a thick package. I cannot fault the construction of the clip as it holds firmly and is not flimsy. I would buy it again.
Customer Review: Good Bang for The Buck Summary: 4 Stars
Amazon has been bugging me to do this review so here it is: They sent me a purple one rather than silver, but I could care less about the color. It works just fine. Be careful where you place the clamp so you don't damage the screen. It will work fine on DTB's too. Very fair price, IMHO. I'm using it on a Kindle 2. Only 4 stars because of the switch placement.
UPDATE Oct. 18, 2009..We had a power failure last night so I just turned on the Mighty Bright and read away. Plenty of light with just one light on. I'm ordering another one for my wife to use with her K2.
Customer Review: KINDLE: Great when used at an angle to avoid "spotlighting". Summary: 4 Stars
If you plan to use this light (or any light, very likely) with the Kindle, you will find a problem with "spotlighting." The Kindle's screen is just reflective enough to cause a bright splash across the page when a book light is pointed directly at it. It's impossible to read through the brightness. This book light has a goose neck, so it can be used successfully if you angle it a bit, so that only the edge of the circle of light illuminates the page. The drawback is that the light is no longer as local, and may disturb those around you if you are using the light to read at night.
Customer Review: Best book light I ever bought Summary: 5 Stars
I'd recommend this to anyone who works late at home and doesn't have a separate office. The coverage is great. I use it to illuminate my laptop keyboard as I'm resting on the couch or in bed and it doesn't disturb my husband. It's great for books, hardcover and soft, as well as typed manuscript pages. I'm an editor and do a lot of late night reading.
I've gone through a lot of book lights, some too dim, some with not enough coverage, or the batteries or bulbs die quickly. I've only had this for a short period of time but would buy another in a heartbeat.
