All I can say is after trying other LED book lights this one doesn't flicker. It illuminates both pages in a biology textbook. It wiggles and moves and adjusts to whatever I need it to be. The AAA batteries might add up in cost but I'll buy rechargeables b/c the ILLUMINATION provided by this lamp far surpasses any other booklight I've tried. I bought it to light up books I read at night. It does the job and then some. The only cons I can think of relate to design and not effectiveness so are irrelevant. This product rocks.
