Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Microsoft Optical Mouse (Blue)Customer Review: Excellent mouse Summary: 4 Stars
I'm very picky about my mice. I use the touchpad on my laptop to play World of Warcraft because the wireless travel mouse I have is too small to be comfortable. I can't stand mice that have two main buttons, and a scroll wheel, and another wheel on the side, and five more buttons around the edges, etc.
This mouse is great. I have fairly large hands, and it fits comfortably. It's extremely straightforward - just two buttons and the scroll wheel. And the laser is extremely precise. As soon as I bought this for my desktop I tossed my old ball mouse into a drawer and never looked back. I've had it for a couple of years and have never had a problem. Now, I'm buying another to use with my laptop. Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Buy for all my computers Summary: 5 Stars
This is the mouse I consistently come back to. I have used this mouse on 3 of my computers, and it compares favorably to every other mouse I've used -- with the weak exception of the extremely comfortable, but expensive ($50) VerticalMouse from Evoluent; that mouse, however, broke after a year of use.
This mouse is my favorite for these reasons:
- Optical, so precise and no jumping
- Perfect scroll wheel. It's clickable, functioning as a third mouse button (try middle-clicking links in Firefox to open them in new tabs, or middle-click tabs to close them)
- Has right-click (duh, but Apple mice often do not)
- Feels pretty comfortable to use
- Lefties could use it, too
Customer Review: Suffers From Opitcal Jitter Summary: 2 Stars
This was my first optical mouse. Unfortunately, I soon learned about optical "jitter". I was unable to get smooth curser movements for small hand movements involving editing of digital photos, etc. Small movements cause noticeable curser jitter on the screen. Do an internet search using "optical mouse jitter" and you will see this is a common problem for optical mice.I've since replaced it a Logitech MX310, which has no such problem. The Logitech moves across the screen smoothly - and seems to glide across the mouse pad easier. Of course the MX310 is more expensive - but worth it. If you don't do a lot of precise/fine work - then I suppose the "optical mouse blue" is OK.
Customer Review: Nice product for price Summary: 4 Stars
I've been using this mouse for a month now and it's working perfectly. You really can't go wrong if you're in need of a replacement and on a budget. Connects easily via either USB or PS/2 ports, cord is plenty long, pointer experiences no halting or freezing. The installation disc isn't really necessary (most, if not all, modern PC's will allow you to simply change mice without additional procedures being required) but it's not a resource hog, either. If you choose to use the installation cd, it will provide you with a quick way (via desktop icon) to access mouse control panel and program each of the 3 buttons to your choosing, which is nice for the scroll wheel in particular. This is a nice product.
Customer Review: Can't go wrong... But could be better.... Summary: 4 Stars
Just got this one today... My first impression is that it's constructed rather poorly... It's light and it rattles.... It just doesn't feel solid... Up until now, I've beem using another Microsoft optical mouse, Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical and even though it's less expensive than this one, that one feels more solid. I just don't see the advantage of this mouse over the Wheel Mouse Optical that I am replacing now... (well, this one is colorful, which is the exact reason why I bought this one). Other than the construction issue, they both work flawlessly... Can't really go wrong, but I would still go for the amazingly cheap Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical....
