Great! The Microsoft 4000 mouse was suggested by my son after he purchased the same model, and I have been totally pleased with the product. This model has some helpful features for maneuvering around the desktop more quickly and more efficiently. Customer Review: Don't Waste Your Money...

This mouse lasted all of about 2 months before it finally stopped working altogether. The range on this mouse is abysmal, three feet is about as far as it gets. If the distance of the mouse from the receiver exceeds this threshold, both the mouse and the receiver have to be reset in order for it to start working again.
The battery compartment on the mouse is also a source of headaches. It would appear that if you pick up the mouse, the mouse loses power and doesn't come back on. This is due to the metal contacts inside of the battery compartment moving out of alignment. Fixing this involves taking out the battery slide thing and bending the contact so that it completes a circuit with the rest of the mouse.

Defeats the whole purpose of going wireless. The mouse itself is nicely constructed, but the only reason I bought this product was so that I could watch online tv episodes on my computer without having to get up from my bed. After each commercial, I hate to get up and hit the "click to continue" button in the networks' websites. If you don't mind the limited range, this mouse is actually quite good. The construction is solid and each button is very responsive. Microsoft just needs to increase the range from 6 to 10 feet, in order to truly call this product wireless. Hopefully, the Logitech wireless mice have better range than this product. A little disappointed with Microsoft for their shorcoming.
