Out of the many, many keyboards out there, this is one is actually decent. I'd been using Dell's standard k/b that came with most of their machines. Works fine, but too noisy.
I've tried Logitech and various other wired/wireless ergonomic keyboards (Microsoft included), but couldn't get used to the flat, compact design -- the keys all close together. And I hated the 'wave' design on some. Not for me.
This one's not pretty and it's kinda dated, but it's quiet and the keys are like my Dell k/b -- spaced out just right. I'll probably never use half the features, but for basic typing for normal-sized hands, it's not bad at all.

This keyboard is fantastic. The 5 "my favorites" programable buttons are great for jumping to an application or a web page that you choose. Also the pre programed "my documents", "my pictures", "my music", "mail", "web/home" and "messenger" buttons are a real time saver. The lay out is nice and easy to use. This keyboard works really well. It has a great design, is easy to use and set up, and much more! The shortcut keys make finding what you need quick and easy. These keys are easy to program to fit your needs. Keystrokes are really quiet. I've used it for gaming with very few problems. The Microsoft Digital Media Pro Keyboard has a lot of great functions/ features.
Pros...I was looking for a keyboard with a sleep mode button, which it has! IT also has five favorites buttons that is customizeable, of course. There is a my documents, my pictures, my music, mail, web/home, messanger, calculator and a lock button as well. Plus, there is a slider key on the side that can enlarge your screen and all this extra stuff is fun to use.It is a very responsive keyboard too. Oh.. Not to forget about the volume, fast forward and rewind buttons for your dvd, music experience. The price is very good for what you get!
Cons...The Keyboard is thick and the keys need a heavier push than what I was used to, but it you get used to it just fine. It is not wireless but it uses an USB connection.
I have an HP computer and the keyboard that came with it was thin but the letters on the keys kept coming off, so I had to compalin about it and HP sent me a replacement but that was worse with the same problem of the letters coming off, so I got tired of that mess and that's why I ordered this keyboard. I am a heavy user and need a reliable and hard working keyboard! I have not had it but a month and so far so good!
