Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Microsoft Arc Mouse - BlackCustomer Review: Great feeling mouse, but easy on the batteries! Summary: 3 Stars
I've been using this mouse since April both at work and at home. It works and feels great, but runs out of batteries WAY too quickly. I use Energizer 900 mAh rechargeables and I need to replace them about every other day. My home machine the mouse is about 4.5 feet from the transceiver, and at work it is about 2 feet apart. I am a programmer and not a creative person so it's not like I over use the mouse. I just think it has horrible power usage. Why isn't there an off switch? At least then I could prevent the bleed when I leave my desk (if I am away from the office for several days I can be sure it will be dead when I get back). For now I hope to be able to remember to pull the batteries out when not in use.
I give it a 5 for feel and control when the batteries are actually working, and a 1 for the horrible experience I've had actually keeping it running for prolonged periods, resulting in a 3.
Customer Review: Decent Mouse - Poor life span Summary: 3 Stars
The Microsoft Arc Mouse is a decent mouse with a few problems. I enjoyed this mouse while I was using and found it to be a great addition to my desktop. I noticed that it had a completely different ergonomic feel than many other mouses and it takes some time to get used to. However my biggest issue with this mouse is that after 2 weeks of use it had died on me, I am assuming it is because of an issue with the transmitters (I perused the web and found this to be a major issue with many other people); Not once did I drop the mouse or put it through any unnecessary strains. However I filed my claim with Amazon and they were more than willing to take it back.
Pros:
Interesting and fun design
Very compact
Cons:
Takes time to get used to
Mouse life issues
Endstate:
I would recommend this mouse if you are into trying out new products and peripherals
Customer Review: great compact mouse Summary: 4 Stars
Soft to the touch. surface has a soft plastic covering all throughout the mouse. although I was personally used to having a mouse that was fat enough to rest my entire hand on, I think I could live with this (I wring around my pinky and ring finger below the arc comfortably). Also was bothered by my inability to tilt the scroll to the left and right (my former microsoft mouse could) but not a huge loss. Light below the scroll wheel is nifty, as it'll indicate when your batteries are running low. I'm one to travel and move around with my laptop (and I despise using the touchpad) so having this capability of folding it up and hitting the road (with ease) is awesome. Packaging included a magnetized cloth bag to hold my mouse too (with two batteries) -- unexpected! I highly recommend this! However, I'd tell someone with a fatter than average hands to look elsewhere (as it's downfall is in the width of the mouse)
Customer Review: Works perfectly with a Mac Summary: 5 Stars
Just bought this product today at my local retailer in San Diego and it's perfect for my Black Macbook:
Just plug the (micro) receptor in a usb port, pull the batteries in the mouse and you are good to go.
However, to activate the two other configurable buttons, you will have to go on the windows website and download a 10Mb software.
I configured one button for expose, the other for dashboard.
And contrary to the mighty mouse, you will not accidentally click the lateral button here.
I've been a Mac Addict since 6 years now but I gotta say that apple mice sucks and that Microsoft one is really really good and handle wells in the hand.
Thus, I recommend this product to any Macuser, really good portable mouse but with the normal size, really ergonomic, easy to setup and if you have a black Macbook, it's just PERFECT.

Ok, so i touched one in a store and thought "oh this is cool !" and bought it here on amazon.
the price is a good deal, but certainly not a cheap price.
after about 5 minutes with the mouse, it doesnt fit your hand right, and moving it around starts to actually get annoying because your thumb has to be in a different place than usual. i am used to a logitech vx revolution, which is AMAZING. but i gave it to my lady friend. shes lucky.
this arc mouse doesnt contour well to the hand, and the side button ("back" when browsing the internet) is in the goofiest place. you actually have to move your hand to hit it. thats going against the purpose of it. the scroll wheel also doesnt go side to side like logitech's does.
overall, i am disappointed with my purchase. oh well. go for a logitech. this microsoft mouse is not worth it.
