Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of TVisto Series 3.5'' Multimedia External Hard Drive Enclosure

Customer Review: Bringing up the Rear...
Summary: 1 Stars

I have purchased this product, as well as, the Mvix and Tvix and this product does not compare.

Cons:
* The A/V cables and power cord are specifically designed for the TVisto and they are cheaply made, so if they are damaged, as with mine, you cannot purchase A/V cables off the open market.
* The media folders have to be specifically organized for the TVisto or the device will not recognize the files or folders.
* Unlike the Mvix and Tvix, the TVisto does not have an internal fan, so the hard drive gets extremely hot.
* The Mvix and Tvix have easy access compartment for the hard drive, which does not require the removal of screws. The TVisto requires the screws be removed.
* To be such an inferior product, I would have expected the price to be at least half the cost of the Mvix and Tvix.

Pros:
* Uuuhhh, it has a nice remote.

The Mvix is the best.

Customer Review: Divx 6.x not compatible
Summary: 1 Stars

most of these multimediaplayer harddrives are NOT compatible with the Divx 6.x standards out there for about a year now, and as well NOT compatible with the new quicktime 4 format also used by most pros out there.
in contradiction to what they advertise for ....

but these items are usually "ONLY" compatible with older Divx version up to 5.x, which needless to say, NO ONE uses any more for a year now.

so dont be surprised if your downloaded avi or divx or mov movies from the internet just will not play, and also dont be suprised if customer service is not reachable , and if it is, then they will only very reluctantly admit to the lack of compatibility of their players.

if you are not sure, call the manufacturers guys, ask them about this, and let them know what we consumers need...

Customer Review: Galaxy TVisto Review
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased this unit. Sets up easily but you could only turn it off or on with the power button in the rear and the remote would not work. The internal ribbon was broken. They were very nice and i returned it ( on my dime) When I recived the new one the very same thing happened to it. Again I returned it (on my dime again)They were very nice and gave me credit but as much as I thought this would be very useful, I did not get another one. I will try to get a MacArthur Tvisto if I can and try that.

Customer Review: What about use of HD component cable?
Summary: 4 Stars

Im from Italy. I bought TVisto in Italy and then the specific component cable from Amazon. I've got a Pioneer HDReady 43" TV - 100hz. The trouble is that I cannot set the right mode to view in HDTV. Both in 720p and in 1080i, images are worst than in s-video mode! I think the problem is the 100hz frequence of my TV. Is this possible? Anyone has a similar experience and could help me? Thanks. Gianni

Customer Review: OK device
Summary: 3 Stars

The device is OK. I have it connected through the S-video for the video portion. This device is not compatible with all digital formats. Many in the higher quality video is not supported. (Very frustrating) There are others that work will all digital video formats. I'd look into them. Maybe a couple dollars more, but not significant.
