Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Memorex 8.5Gb/ 2.4x DVD+R Dual Layer (25-Pack Spindle)

Customer Review: Best Dual Layer DVD Media on the market
Summary: 5 Stars

There doesn't seem to be much selection in Dual Layer DVD media so far and the prices at retailers are very high. Fortunately I have found these Memorex discs to be reasonable priced through Amazon and have had no issues playing back the video on very old and new equipment. I just wish they carried a 100 pack for a better discount.

Customer Review: Good Reliable Product
Summary: 4 Stars

This item is a very good buy considering that the dual layer DVD's are still so expensive. I bought two and it was much cheaper than one 50-pack spindle. Only one of fifty did not work but that was because the program I was using to backup my data crashed during the burn process.
I would definitely purchase this product again.

Customer Review: Great Price and Great Product
Summary: 5 Stars

The best deal I've found for these. The 2.4x isn't really an issue, I usually burn at the slower speeds anyway to avoid write errors. The only failed burns I've had are due to my hardware limitations; I had to clear extra space on my hard drive due to the dual layer drive needing more free disc space for compiling during recoding.

Customer Review: Good quality double-layer DVDs
Summary: 4 Stars

I have a Sony DVD recorder that supports the dual-layer DVDs. These Memorex DVDs are the first DL's I've purchased, and so far so good. Out of approximately 10 I've burned, one could not be read by the Sony DVD recorder. Hopefully, that's an anomaly, and the rest will be fine. But, in general, I've had good luck with Memorex media.

Customer Review: These p-o-s discs won't even burn on Memorex drives
Summary: 1 Stars

I thought it was a problem with my IBM ThinkPad T60p DVD+-R/DL drive, then I tried to burn onto these from my Memorex internal drive.

Result? "Corrupted" discs. A $16 three-pack down the tubes.

I went back to Verbatim discs and they were (are) perfect.

Recommendation? Stay away.
